Now, time for reducing climate emissions!

Nox-emissions: 14,4 g/kWhCO2-emissions: 1300 g/km

Nox-emissions: 0,4 g/kWhCO2-emissions: 1000 g/km

Nox-emisssions: 0,0 g/kWhCO2-emissions: 0,0 g/km

• Euro VI technology has solvedthe local problems, but CO2-emissions are too high as longas we run on fossil fuels

• Today's trucks do not meet tomorrow's emission requirements

• Electric engines provides betterenergy efficiency

• Energy storage technology is rapidly maturing

• May lead to lower operating costs

The Norwegian market – a technology driver?

• 2018: less than 6,000 heavy duty trucks sold in Norway

• Germany, the UK and France: more than 200,000 heavy duty trucks were sold in the same period

• The Norwegian market alone is not large enough to affect truck manufacturers to a large extent

Combination of different solutions neededto achieve emission targets

Efficiency - Low hanging fruit- Fuel efficiency improvement- Logistics efficiency- High capacity vehicles

Local Distribution - Battery electric, bioethanol, biogas? - Electric Road Systems?

Long Haul- HVO, bioethanol, biogas, hydrogen?

Regardless of technology - No technology shift without access for everyone

- Accessible infrastructure- Initially, fleet owners will establish their own

filling/charging stations through public subsidies or financial strength

- These must be made available to others withoutthe same financial abilities

- Increasing number of zero-emission vehicles require extensive network of filling/charging stations

- Hard to establish on a commercial basis in theinitial phase

- Incentives will be crucial

To get started in Norway, we need:

• Incentives that take into account thestructure of the industry• 81% of NLF's member companies: 10

trucks or less• 57% of NLF's member companies:

operating profits less than 5% in 2017• Small and medium-sized businesses must be

enabled to make bold investments in new technology • Today's support schemes, for example

through ENOVA, are not sufficient
