Area of Epipoli plateux contains numerous ruins, not only Euryalus castle as it may seem. Plenty of interesting places escape the attention of turists and the area looses its potential. First phase of our intervention provides a net of trekking paths and bike routes enabeling visitors to reach attractive parts of the area communicated with city of Syracuse, train station Targia and highway on the north. The fact that plateux is situated relatively high in the area makes it very valueable as an observatory spot. The altitude gives opportunity to have an overall view onto the unusual landscape of industrial zone of Augusta-Siracusa. Second phase of our intervention focuses on the central part of the tabeland which is both the highest and the most flat part. These features make this spot perfect for the zeppelin’s trips endpoint. The landing constitutes a concrete circle platform moved to the edge of a slope. Round shape is defined by zeppelins requirement to be able to turn around 360 degrees. The spot bears as well the function of a sight seeing terrace and public space. There is a small paivlion hidden beneath the platform in the place where it starts to leap over the slope. It holds functions such as: small restaurant, toilets, info point, zeppelin maintaince office and bike-sharing. This also means that no structures are visible from the level of the viewpoint leaving the surroundings rough and untouched strenghtening the moonlike feeling. All the routes in the region are meeting together below the deck highliting the center of the plateux. The energy demads for the facilities are fully covered by wind powered kite energy generator situated ontop of the platform. Additional feature of these kites is possibility of using them as lifts for people who want experiance one of a kind views on magnificent industrial area. A moving sculpture of flying objects above the area will be highly noticable from all the places in the region increas-ing the importance of the spot. The kites are covered with led lights making them even more distinctive during night. Glowing, lively structures constitute a sort of visiual connection between the industry and the city.
