GOVERNMENT VISIT TO CHIBULUMA 

The visit by the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Honourable Christopher Yaluma took place on 24th January 2017 and included government officials and the media.

The objective of the visit was for the Minister to gain a first-hand understanding of mining operations at Chibuluma Mines Plc and to engage with a cross section of employees in order to get a first-hand feel of management-employee relations.

The minister met with various stakeholders including Mine Management and employee representatives.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Mines Minister to better understand the challenges facing Chibuluma Mines as it moves towards its end of mine life and also understand the operating environment vis-à-vis copper price challenges. Chibuluma management was grateful to the Government of Zambia for the opportunity for substantive dialogue with the Mines Minister.
