Social Networking
Much of my
Instagram content
has to do with
exploring the Twin
Cities, especially local
events. In this case, I
posted a couple of
times during
Minnesota Restaurant
Week. My posts were
featured in a recap of
the week by Meet
Minneapolis.
I’m a native social networker. I have a
robust knowledge of all major social media
platforms, and have an expert understanding
of how to share outstanding content.
During college, I
helped promote
the Student
Government
presidential
campaigns for
two different
candidates.
This involved
memes and
custom video
posts to highlight
the platform of
each candidate.
What can you
do with just
140 characters?
I believe that
the “limits” of
Twitter actually
work in favor
of the user. It
allows for
succinct,
power-packed
posts that are
easily seen
and shared,
even by those
who aren’t
followers.
I use mentions and hashtags
with great success – the clip I
referenced was feature on
SportsCenter that night.
Project Management
Processes and MethodsI learned to use a variety of programs,
including SalesForce CRM and retail
planogram building software for daily work
use. I familiarized myself with best practice
methods and communicated them to
merchandising partners when needed.
KnowledgeI was responsible for knowing my category-
specific transition schedule, as well as what
routine tasks needed to be addressed on daily
and weekly basis.
The landscape of Target requires the
efficient and correct application of
processes and methods, knowledge, skills
and experience to each situation. That is, to
succeed at Target, one must be a strong
project manager.
SkillsI used strategic planning and time
management skills to proactively attack
workload and make autonomous work a
valuable part of collaborative effort.
ExperienceI acted as a liaison between different
merchandising areas/partners. I directed
appropriate team members toward the
execution of key deliverables for new
Target initiatives (Home Innovation and
Express stores).
Brand Management
During each sport /season
transition, I led the critical evaluation
of the entire footwear area to ensure
new merchandise sets embraced the
“Every Season Starts at Dick’s
Sporting Goods” slogan.
I used analysis of weekly sales
metrics and customer surveys to
constantly make merchandise
placement and guest interaction
decisions which drove brand
credibility.
As a cashier and customer service
specialist, I highlighted the benefits of
the Dick’s loyalty program and credit
card specifically to each customer to
help build brand loyalty.
As a customer service specialist and sales
leader, brand management was a core
responsibility. The retail business thrives
on employees creating an environment
that will encourage store and brand loyalty.
Event Planning
During my junior year of college I
planned and hosted the school’s
spring variety show with a fellow
classmate. This involved 20-25 hours
of work per week for 10+ weeks. We
were responsible for social media
planning, act auditioning and
selection, and show content planning
and execution.
Act Auditioning and Selection- Planned and ran auditions for all
interested acts.
- Led selection committee of 10-15
members in choosing final acts and their
performance order.
- Responsible for email communication
about show information and requirements
to selected acts.
Social Media PlanningManaged event-specific social media accounts
across three different platforms to promote:
-Awareness of audition and performance
dates, requirements, and general show details.
- Excitement about the show through
strategic promotional content in line with
show theme.
- Engagement with students to increase
interest and draw in more followers.
Content Planning and Execution- Planned and wrote “between act” emcee
content for a show with a total length of two
hours, including musical covers, comedic
routines, and live and video skits.
- Recruited and managed a total of 100
performers and volunteers involved in show
production and execution.
- Memorized and performed all emcee content
for an audience of 1300 people.
