YWLA Art Ms. Jones’ art students competed in Junior Vase art competition and came home with tons of medals. Awesome job YWLA artists!

YWLA Lacrosse YWLA High School Lacrosse team finishes their first year strong in their last match this week against Hockaday private school. Lacrosse is an elite sport that originated in Scotland in 1890. The object of the game is to use a long-handled stick to catch, cradle, and pass a solid yellow rubber ball in an effort to score by hurling the ball into an opponent's goal. YWLA is the only school in GPISD with a Lacrosse team, and one of the very few in North Texas. Our girls will have the opportunity to earn college scholarships for lacrosse.

Miss Grand Prairie Visits YWLA

Cupcakes with Kaitlyn Miss Grand Prairie, Kaitlyn Ayrton, came to YWLA on Monday to mentor our high school students about leadership, service, perseverance, and success. Miss Grand Prairie is studying fashion design and merchandising at Wade College, so our Business/ Fashion Marketing students have enjoyed working with her and learning more about the fashion

STEM is big at YWLA. We try to give our girls lots of opportunities to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math. Our new MiP robot is bringing lots of learning and fun to our students. Students can use computer coding to make MiP perform actions and commands.

YWLA students collaborated with the Grand Prairie Police Department and Miss Grand Prairie to donate over 200 stuffed animals to children in the hospital. Thank you to all the students who donated- your kindness shows!!
