YOUNG WOMEN COLLEGE PREPATORY ACADEMY / 2015PROJECT MANAGER
This project is located downtown Houston. It’s an all-girls secondary school is slated to receive a $27.1 million makeover that will preserve its historic past while creating modern learning spaces to help prepare students for college and careers. The school is upgrading their classroom space to current Houston Independent school district standards as well as additional spaces for their STEM program, robotics and CTE classroom.
The design includes adding a circular drive to the front of the building with a covered pick-up/drop-off area complimenting its classical brick facade. The administrative offices, now on the second floor, will be relocated near the building’s main entrance, where a secure vestibule will be added. Much of the interior renovation will focus on modernizing the classroom spaces into larger learning centers with better natural light, integrated technology and flexible furniture. An addition is slated to be built adjacent to the current auditorium, and will feature an atrium and flexible spaces to create a college-like, collaborative atmosphere for the students to expand their creativities.
The challenge for this project is the site restriction due to project location and the need to preserve existing trees to achieve LEED status.

PEOPLES STATE BANK / 2013INTERN ARCHITECT
This is a complete interior renovation project for a Texas Bank. The existing bank was built in 1975 and an addition was added to the back of the building in 1983. The bank has a total of 9,232 s and is a type VB construction.
The vestibule is a transition space in between exterior and interior space. The Texas Star was used to give the bank that “Texan” welcome. The lobby is the hierarchical space of the building. In order to keep an open plan concept for the lobby, Tremain Planel System was used for the space. It’s different from the traditional cubicles, it has a nice black metal panel with window vision panel in between allowing people to feel less enclosed but yet they still have privacy from the public.
In this project, my focus was to ensure the phasing plan has clear graphics to convey to the contractors, ensure demolition plan has correctly noted with correct graphics, dimensioning all aspect of the project, coordinating with MEP on lighting and structural engineer on details for large span of above teller and waiting area, designed finish floor pattern for vestibule and lobby, designed and detailed teller and check stand millwork base on custom specifications, detailed interior elevations, layout furniture plan and generated 3D image for clients.

The intent of the project is to give extra gallery space and learning space for the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. The project program includes Public Display, education space and an administrative space. One of the unique program in this is project is a Children’s Art studio. It allows artistes to teach the younger generations about art and different technique of creating art.
The concept of the project is utilize push and pull movement on series of boxes allowing the building to develop outdoor spaces the on the second level as well as natural skylights for spaces below.
The building program is divided into three main categories: galleries, education, and administrative. The building is recess below grade to allow more space for the gallery space and performance space. The public will be walking through a series of natural light in the space as they make their way to the performance art space at west end of the building. This “recess” movement allows the project to develop an amphitheater condition for the courtyard allowing outdoor mini performance for the community. This project seems like the internal connection to the CAMH is located on the second level but it’s actually connected through the basement, where the public are able to walk through different gallery spaces before arriving to CAMH. The upper eastside level houses workshops and studios for CAMH to host any community events promoting hands on art work programs for children. The café is located near the upper level of the auditorium where the public can enjoy the outdoor space after a performance over a cup of coffee.

NOBEL CENTER: Transform / 2014Instructor: Matt Johson
The Nobel center situated on Blasieholmen peninsula in Stockholm. As an architectural representation of the Nobel Prize, the Nobel Center will serve as a space to promote creativity and innovative thinking in finding solutions for the world's major challenges of today and of the future.
This project is base on the idea of performance driven structure. It transfrom from landscape to hardscape to a ventilated facade system for the building. The Ventilated facade is made up of glass and perforated panels, it will allow the building to retain solar heat and allow the hot air raise through the building to keep the interior of the building warm.
The circulation of the site is to allow public to pass through the project with a direct connection to the water but also educate the public about the Noble Prize druing the process. The performance space and gallery usage is located on the ground floor. The cafe is located on the second floor. The third and fourth are more pivate usages such as library, workshop, conference rooms.
