Profesor Angel Ysern’s Language Inmersion Programme? Not only did we practise the English language in everyday lessons but we also learn so many other things... We experienced a whole new way of living. We tried delicious meals, like the popular full Irish breakfast. We visited wonderful cultural and historical sites, such as Dublin’s Trinity College, the Cliffs of Moher or Galway’s Spanish Arch, some local shops, even a nightclub! Some danced to traditional music and some played hurling and Irish football. We also learnt Gaelic and interacted with locals. But above all, we all became true members of lovely Irish families who made our stay there so fun and rewarding. We are looking forward to visiting them again next year!

Emma Watson Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is a British actress, model, and activist. She was born the 15th of April of 1990 in Paris, France, but she moved to England at the age of five. She is known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, but she has played other characters in movies like The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), The Bling Ring (2013) or, the most current one, the 2017 live action Disney adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, playing as Belle. Despite her successfully acting career, Emma completed her studies and went to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in English literature.

Emma Watson has also fought for women's rights numerous of times, promoting educationfor girls, (visiting Bangladesh and Zambia to do so), being appointed as a UN Women Goodwill ambassador in July 2014 and giving speeches about feminism and gender equality. She has won lots of awards like the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year (2014), the Women Film Critics Circle Award (an Acting and Activism award) (2016), or the Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) (2002).

My favourite painting is The Meninas by Pablo Picasso. The painting shows the Royal family in a room. They are posing. There are many people in the painting. There is a painter, a rich family and the pet. There are also paintings, many windows and some lamps. In the painting the rich are wearing expensive clothes .In a frame on the left there is a painter drawing. Happiness is transmitted by smell We usually say that happiness is something that escapes our eyes, an invisible feeling that makes us smile more and something which, others interpret, means we are in a better mood for some reason. There is an investigation that affirms that happiness can be smelled and infected, since the emotional state of contentment and joy causes us to expel certain chemical substances that come out through our sweat and others can sense it. To reach these conclusions, the researchers collected samples of sweat from 12 young and healthy men after having witnessed various videos designed to provoke emotions such as fear or happiness. Afterwards, the scientists monitored the reactions of 36 healthy young women while they smelled the sweat samples of

the men. The results revealed the presence of a "synchronization of behavior" between the emotional state of the participant and the reaction of the volunteers in which the "happy sweat" caused a contagious response in the person who smelled it. (Jennifer Gómez Salcedo 4ºAE)

WANDA METROPOLITANO, AN EXCELLENT STADIUM. This stadium is Atletico´s new house. It is so big that 65,000 spectators can watch a football match there. At night it is very special because the outside of the building is illuminated with the team colours: red and white. I can say that because I have been there for all the games of the team, and the best match was versus A.S. Roma in the Champions League. That day atlético won 2-0 and the scorers were Griezmann and Gameiro . Metropolitano also has a very huge shop to buy the official products of the team.

How dogs helped humans to survive The discovery of some paintings in Arabia Saudi shows that humans hunted with the help of dogs eight thousands of years ago. These animals have been very important for humans to survive. Scientists are trying to find out in which period humans began to live with dogs. The picture below shows how the hunters controlled the dogs and used them to hunt before tame cows and goats.

In my opinion , it is curious how an animal that lives with people daily has become a domestic animal when it used to be a hunting animal. (Carla Marqués- 4ºESO)

Truff les

Ingredients :

200 gr. of chocolate of coverage

50 gr. of melted butter

75 ml. of cream to mount

1 chorreoncito of brandy or Grand Marnier cocoa in powder

To do it :

To prepare these sweets, bring the stove top to a soft fire and fill a pot with water up to half. In this pot, pour a bowl with the chocolate and remove, occasionally, so that it is fusing into a homogeneous mixture.

As soon as you have the molten chocolate and it is fluid (liquified), withdraw it from the fire and add the melted butter and the scum. Remember to stop pouring periodically in order that all the ingredients are mixed well. Finally, add the liquor to this mixture. When the ingredients are already well- integrated, stop (remove from heat) to cool the resultant mixture and place it in the refrigerator for, at least, an hour.

Passed the mentioned time, and as soon as the mixture of chocolate has hardened, form balls with the chunks of mass and roll them in the cocoa powder.

Why to take a gap year Taking a gap year isn´t extended in Spain at the time. But in many European countries like Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom, it´s becoming more and more popular every year (the government in Denmark had to pay students as a reward, for not spending more than four years in their “permanent holidays”). What is a gap year? And why deciding to make one can improve your life? A gap year is a period of time (before or after a big decision, like college or working), made to solidify your ideas, to take control of your own life and to leave apart pressure from parents, friends, family and even yourself. Being in a rush to finish the college and getting a degree can lend you to choosing the wrong decisions, induced by what do you think you want, in a short age (like 17), without knowing yourself completely. Those who have made a gap year agree with the main purpose. Clarifying your future goals, becoming more mature, finding your own limits and possibilities, becoming independent… and many other benefits. This kind of “free year” isn´t supposed to become a “all year holidays”. You can use this time for travelling, working, improving languages (that´s the more common option, mostly English), or dedicating yourself to the things you love (or you think you do). Even when this idea can seem strange to many of Spanish teenagers, there are even worldwide recognized universities that encourage their best students to take one, just like Harvard made with the older daughter of Obama, who has left to her gap year in 2018.

This is because researches show that the students become more mature, involved and focused on the target after a period of time “disconnecting” from routine and from “the correct path”. Even if you decide to make it or not, the money do not have to be an obstacle. There are many websites that offer “au pair” travels and exchanges with families who will pay you for taking care of the children or the house, or just helping around. Birth of mythology The birth of mythology arose

from the need of people to explain what is around them.That's why they began to create a series of explanatory stories. These myths were acquired almost entirely by the Romans, although they changed the names of the gods, heroes and other characters that intervene in these stories.

Let's see how it has influenced us in tangible matters today. These are some examples: The signs of the zodiac have mythological names, such as: Taurus (corresponds to the myth of when Zeus was transformed into a bull to abduct Europe), Cancer (the crab that Hera sent as an ally to Hydra to defeat Heracles) Sagittarius (represented by the centaurs ..) or Capricorn (in honour of Amalthea) ... and so on with each of the signs The planets also have Roman and Greek mythological names; Mercury

(Hermes, the messenger of the gods), Venus (Aphrodite, goddess of beauty and love), Earth (Gea, the earth goddess), Mars (Ares, god of war), Jupiter (Zeus, supreme god of Olympus), Saturn (Chrono, Titan), Uranus (god that personifies the sky), Neptune (Poseidon, God of the seas), Pluto (Hades, god of the dead and hell).

This is true in the days of the week as the Monday dedicated to the

moon, Thursday to Jupiter, and even in the Months, as May is dedicated the nymph Maya

Even in some comics and superheroes you can see similarities, as in

Wonder Woman (heroine inspired by the Amazons) or Aquaman (inspired by Poseidon) Flash (inspired by Hermes).

The science of fear: why we love being scared

The fear is a basic reaction in humans and it has evolved during the history of biology, some of the emotional states we experience are positive like happiness and excitement, these states can be attributed to sensations that we consider negative such as fear. Regarding the sensation of fear, it starts in the brain and spreads throughout the entire body. When experiencing that sensation, the breathing accelerates and the heart rate increases . Apart from humans animals also experiment fear: the fox, the dog, the monkey and the rabbit among others.

VII pre-university contest and the company It all begins when we go to the university "ESIC", this university is private and is located in Pozuelo. Business administration and marketing are studied. There, they invited us to do a project about a shoe store. Students were divided into groups of four people and while we were having breakfast we finished the project. Then we went up to the class and there we had to present our work in front of our whole class and a group of teachers who would then judge it and with a time limit of ten minutes. When the rest of the groups finished presenting

their work, the professors told our economics teacher that they liked our work a lot and that, without going through the semifinals of the championship in which we had participated with that project, we went directly to the final. In the VII pre-university contest and the company on March 16, 2018 we will present our store project at the ESIC university. The store is located in the cities of Madrid, Barcelona and Granada, because in

these cities there are the largest universities. We have based on a rustic design in which we have introduced the use of technology with tablets, screens or monitors. We also expose marketing strategies to benefit the company although most of the project is based on the presentation of the store. As for the catalog we have followed the current web page, with the same models and colors.
