Confidence Building Developing confidence is an important part of growing up. We build self-confidence in children through fun-filled but challenging activities such as Flying Fox, Burma Bridge, Commando Crossing, Crossing The Wall, Rappelling etc. Besides confidence, they also enhance their self-esteem, self-belief and self-worth. These activities make children discover their hidden strengths. Monday, March 31, 2014 7 7. Rural Exposure &amp; Community Services An exposure to rural life makes children aware of the peculiar environment in which their village- counterparts live in. The children take a bullock card ride to the village and are shown a well, visit a school, indulge in community work, see various aspects of village life and then sit on the floor to enjoy a village lunch. Environment Monday, March 31, 2014 9 To help the present day child realize the importance of saving the earth we expose them to some environmental activities such as kitchen gardening, rain water harvesting, drip irrigation, star gazing, web of life, flaura &amp; fauna collage making etc. 9. Creativity Creativity is the impetus behind any given act of creation be it inventions, compositions, etc. We foster creativity through activities like flag making, campus newspaper, hut making, Launch Kraft, etc. Monday, March 31, 2014 10 10. Survival Techniques Learning to manage &amp; sustain themselves under adverse circumstances, is another challenge our campers face. We allow them to trek, pitch their own tents, cook their own food and spend a night out under the stars an experience they dont ever forget. Monday, March 31, 2014 11 11. Socializing In the evenings the children are engaged in sports, drama, skits, some informal activities, camp fire preparation, creation of the Campus News Paper &amp; ME TIME. Please note that a day will be planned keeping in mind the campus mood, weather conditions and availability of resources. Every day will be new with different activities, learnings and experience. The above activities are indicative of the variety and all activities may not be done in a single camp. Monday, March 31, 2014 12 12. Travel Campers will travel by air (Indigo / Spice Jet) from Mumbai to Chandigarh and back AC transport (Mini bus / SUVs) from Chandigarh to Chail (130 Km , approx 4 hours drive )to camp and back Shimla sight seeing by local (non AC bus). Return by local toy train * 13 13. Children will be accommodated in Tents. (4 in a tent) Boys &amp; girls are accommodated separately with adequate care taken. Beddings will be provided; children need to carry their own toiletries &amp; medium size towel. Inbuilt western style toilets in all the accommodation * 14 14. Tents Monday, March 31, 2014 15 15. Weather At this time of the year the weather is cool and comfortable. The average temp is 18 to 25 degrees Celsius Campers will require light woolens as it gets cold in mornings / evenings. * 16 16. As Chairman Army School Bareilly, he got the inspiration from students to divert his attention to Value Education. He did his B Ed in 2003 and an Education Leadership Programme in 2005. He is a member of ASCD and has been the Chairman of IAG (Intl Affl Gp) of AEE (Association of Experiential Education). Sushil represents India in the international Council for Self- esteem. He is a founder member of SSSCI (Special Sports Schools Council of India). Brig Sushil Bhasin was involved in active training in the Indian Army for 34 years. His training experience ranges from grass root level of training recruits to the macro level exposure in ARTRAC where he was involved in formulating training policies and doctrines for the Indian Army. Faculty 17. Eligibility, Registration &amp; Communications Children between 10 to 18 years are eligible to register themselves. Registration Forms will be sent on request. Please write to us at and we will send them across. Communication with the Campers during the Camping We sincerely request you not to call your child on the first day of the camp. Second day onwards you may call him / her during ME TIME in the evening (8.30 pm to 10.00 pm). Investment Fee for the camp is Rs 14500 per participant. Inclusions - camping, road travel from Chandigarh to Camp &amp; back, cap and applicable taxes. A good pair of sports shoes (preferably not brand new) is essential with 4-5 pairs of cotton socks. Please send sunscreen, as children will be out in the sun Cotton shorts, or capris or track pants are advised during trekking or other outbound activities. Light woolens are necessary in the mornings / evenings Personal medicines, if any, must be carried. This information should be furnished so that we take care of this aspect. However what the children carry is purely at their own risk and they will be responsible for their safe custody. We are very particular about safety and security. Children must be told to follow such instructions. Please restrict money to the minimum (for shopping in Shimla) There is no opportunity to spend more money.
