    Your Very Own Corruption 1/3/2011

Sure, it is easy to point the finger at all these big corporations, who are the moreconspicuous about being greedy and not helping those in need, but what of ourselves?

How do we know when we begin to falter? The reason it is easy to blame others is due to

an attribute error I learned about while studying psychology. We attribute the good thingswe do to our internal character, while the bad things we do as necessary due to an

eternal situation !"I had to rob that rob that store to feed my family"#. However, when it

comes to politicians we say they have an internally bad character, and only act good dueto eternal situations !"They only helped the poor to put on a good image for re$

election"#. So, how do we look at things more ob%ectively? Well, it may be hard to %udge

if a politician is truly a douche or not, but %udging yourself may be a little more simple.

Have you heard of Hanlon&s 'a(or? ")ever attribute to malice that which is

    ade*uately eplained by stupidity." +ersonally, I prefer my own ra(or.... dratsab&s 'a(or

")ever attribute to malice or stupidity that which is ade*uately eplained by apathy".

+ick the ra(or you prefer, and put it to use on yourself. I&m sure most of the bad thingswe do aren&t out of sheer want to be a bad person, but rather, we take the la(y route... or

apathetic route. We are too tired to go out of our way to do the right thing. Then, wehave to internally %ustify what we have done, which has another technical psychology

term for it, but I don&t recall what it is eactly !-+/T0 )1T0 cognitive dissonance#.

2asically, your mind doesn&t want to believe it is a bad person, so when you do somethingagainst your morals, your brain changes your morals to suit what you have %ust done.

What is ironic about this is that the world seems to be moving in %ust the opposite

direction, to progress. Instead of becoming a more corrupt society, we are actuallymoving away from the evils of the past. Well, at least it appears this way to me, but

maybe I am %ust as corrupt, and I %ust don&t reali(e it. It&s hard to understand why ourancestors in the past, allowed shit like racism, but who knows... maybe tomorrow we willall be a bunch of animal rights activist pussies, and we will wonder why yesterday

everyone used to do such fucked up shit like eat those poor little souls. 'ight now, I

think such an idea is absurd, but who knows, maybe one of my grand$children will thinkmy generation were cra(y fucks for allowing it. /nyway, I&m off to eat a delicious cow,

    have a wonderful evening.
