By standing 211 metres away from Gaia people can see the Earth as it appears from the Moon. Luke Jerram presents GAIA UNITED KINGDOM Consisting of thousands of acrylic crystals suspended three metres above ground level, this interactive sculpture undulates and curves, bringing a little piece of space closer to Earth. During the day they will dance and sparkle under sunlight and from twilight will transform into Joondalup’s very own Nebula. Sean van der Poel presents NEBULA AUSTRALIA Have you ever seen an eight- metre-high inflatable space man? Is he lost? Where did he come from? Is he reaching up to touch a star? Wherever he’s from and whoever he is, pay him a visit before he disappears. Airena presents CALLING OCCUPANTS AUSTRALIA Channel your inner spaceman and get up close and personal with this incredible seven metre-wide suspended replica of Earth’s celestial satellite, made from high resolution NASA images, where each centimetre is equivalent to five kilometres (approx. 1: 500,000 scale). Catch some of the street performers under the moon, or simply take a seat on the grass and get lost in space. Slow down and say hi to two giant ancient molluscs. Leave the world behind for a few moments as you are invited to peer into their shells to be transported at a snail’s pace, to another universe. Galileo and Celeste will be a delight for both children and curious adults to investigate and follow on their journey through the festival. Galileo and Celeste are commissioned by the City of Joondalup and the City of Greater Geraldton. La Galerie Mobile presents WALKS OF ART Come and meet the Walks of Art. Created in the image of Monet’s Field of Poppies and Van Gogh’s Sunflower series and Starry Starry Night painting, they stroll as if in a summer garden, delighting their audience with ambient whirls, twirls and interactions. Hand painted and self-illuminated for evening walks, viewers will be charmed into making photographic lasting impressions. Pop in to the Fuelling Station to recharge your batteries at a selection of food trucks with a range of delicious food and beverage options available for purchase. CENTRAL ‘NEBULA’ PARK The centre of all things Joondalup, Central ‘Nebula’ Park is the place to be! Here you will find the main stage with bands, choirs, international street performers and dance spectaculars. There is also a standalone circus rig with incredible acrobatics, two giant sculptures, and even some roaming performers to follow to your next adventure. Kick back and relax in the licensed area by day, with a mix of sultry jazz trios, gypsy jazz, powerful pop, slide guitar (like you have never seen before) and indie rock, there is something for everyone. THE LITTLE PALAIS Packed with shows to please little and big kids alike, The Little Palais has something for everyone. There’s comedy, magic, a gameshow with a difference, a singalong and dance party, a contortionist… and even the world’s most dangerous hula hoop trick!
