Bart McGuire, a long-time member of the Tucson JCC, won three national titles in dou-bles squash this spring: the United States and Canadian National Championships in the 70+ age group, and the United States Century Championships. This brought his total num-ber of national champi-onships to ten.

Since there are no doubles courts near Tucson, Bart trains at the JCC by playing singles and practicing in a singles court that has been expanded to racquetball length (the back wall is moveable), to more closely replicate the size of a doubles court.

Bart also serves on two for-profit boards of directors and one not-for-profit; serves occasionally as an arbitrator; and has established a program to provide financial assistance to needy retirees from the international women’s tennis tour, where he served as CEO from 1998 through 2001.

Congratulations, Bart!

What do you give the friend or family member who has everything? Make a tribute gift in their honor and support the JCC. This is a great way to celebrate holidays, to honor someone special or to memorialize a loved one. Tribute gifts are meaningful, personal and have a lasting impact while supporting the future of the JCC.

When you make a tribute donation, we send a card to inform the family or beneficiary of your considerate gift. Your personalized message will also appear in the next issue of Center View. All donors who make tribute gifts also receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of their donation for income tax purposes. Suggested minimum gift amount is $10.

Visit www.tucsonjcc.org to make your gift, stop by the Welcome Desk or contact Lori Maurer at [email protected] or 299-3000 x212.
