What does it cost to belong? Clubs are asked to contribute a minimum of

$2 per member based on their October 1 membership roster. These funds are unrestricted and are used within the Capital District. This program should not be confused with the Kiwanis International Foundation Birthday Fund that is required for a Distinguished Club Award.

How are Service Leadership Programs supported?

Each year funds are available to cover any budget shortfalls in the Key Club and CKI district programs.

In previous years, the types of costs supported have included support for district conventions, assistance for district officer expenses to attend district board meetings and international conventions.

What wonderful work the foundation does! What can I do to support this? Obviously, $2 per member is not enough to

ensure all these worthy projects continue. The CKDF is open to support in many ways.

Some clubs give $5 or more per member as their annual contribution.

Page 16: Your Capital District Kiwanis Foundation What can you do so support the Foundation? What can the Foundation do to support your club?

Some clubs donate items to The Caring Corner at District events The Caring corner accepts

handmade crafts that reflect the values of caring and service.

Other new items such as toys, collectibles, gift baskets, and hobby items are welcomed.

Please contact Brian (Div 10) or Carolyn (Div 20) for more information on how and when to donate!

You can donate as a memorial… In recognition of a Kiwanian who inspired

you! Flowers last a few days – but a memorial

donation to the CKDF will help with a lifetime’s worth of service!

Or as a way to honor this year’s club leaders! A certificate or plaque is nice… But think what a difference a contribution to

the foundation will make when the plaque is shut away in a drawer somewhere!
