When do you feel most enslaved? 3- Read Galatians 5:13 - For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Thinking about the areas of freedom in your life, do you use that time to serve anyone else or just to serve yourself? 4- Read Galatians 1:10 – Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? 5- What are some of the “best yeses” you’ve had in your life? How can you repeat those? 6-This Advent, what are a couple ways that you can prepare your heart for Christmas? How will this be different than last year?

Your Best Yes – Week 2 1- What do you want for Christmas or out of Christmas? 2- When was the last or a recent time you could feel God nudging or directing you towards a specific decision? How did you respond? 3- Read aloud Luke 1:38. Mary proclaims she is God’s servant and will do whatever he wills. What are your reactions to this verse? 4- On a scale of 1-5, how surrendered are you to God’s will for your life? Why do you answer as you do? 5- What is a decision big or small that you are wrestling with? What would it look like for you to invite God into that decision making process?

Your Best Yes- Week 3 1- What are you preparing for this Christmas? Do you have any hopes for you and your family this Advent and Christmas season? 2- Don’t you feel that you can sometimes lose perspective on the goal in the midst of preparation? If so, when does that tend to happen to you? What are ways you stay focused on your primary purpose? 3- Does it feel like helping and serving others is an “add-on” to the Christmas season? What are some ways to integrate service to your schedule in these last days leading up to Christmas? 4- Isaiah 58 talks about true fasting and true preparation is “to loose the bonds of injustice.” How important was your education growing up? Do you agree that it’s an injustice that others don’t have access to education? 5- Discuss some things you can say “no” to that you don’t really need, so that others can have things they really do need this Christmas. Are there any needs within your small group that you can help each other with?
