Churches of Christ in Queensland Palms Aged Care Service is a 50-bed, resident care service offering a range of personal care, therapies and accommodation.

Located in Ingham a sugar and service centre town, close to the mouth of the Herbert River and a 100km from nearby Townsville. The town is home to the TYTO Wetland and Information Centre a bird lover’s paradise with more than 230 different species. Ingham also has Australia’s highest permanent single drop waterfall forming part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage area. The town is very community-focused, offering friendly hospitality and set amongst some of the most beautiful locations in the country.

Your accommodation options

We offer a range of options to help you find the

right fit for your individual needs, from single rooms

with a shared ensuite, or spacious private rooms

large enough for a couple including their own ensuite.

All rooms have 24 hour nurse call system, phone point

and air-conditioning.

We offer a range of care options to suit your individual

needs, including dementia and palliative care.

Your room and surrounds

All of our rooms are designed to enhance your comfort

and care. While we provide most of what you will need

on a daily basis, we encourage you to bring keepsakes,

mementoes and other treasured items that will help

you personalise your new home.

Your family and loved ones are always welcome and

can even take part in lifestyle activities. Our range

of dining, living and outdoor entertaining areas offer

flexibility for get-togethers as well as cosy places to

retreat to for a quiet cuppa and chat. Our established

gardens are a wonderful place to enjoy the abundant

birdlife and relaxing atmosphere.

Your care

Your care is based on our holistic approach to individual,

family and community need. We believe in bringing

uplift and dignity at all stages of life and a focus on

positive wellbeing. This means having fun, enjoying life,

increasing connections and living more abundantly.

All our programs are designed to support you and your

family and carers.

When you become part of our community our priority

is to establish a care plan, developed with you, your

loved ones and health care providers. This recognises

your individual preferences, values, choices and

needs and will be tailored to optimise your wellbeing.

It will also include any carer, allied health providers

and others who will form part of your community.

Your care plan will be regularly reviewed to ensure it

continues to meet your needs.

Your care team consists of the service manager,

registered nurses and other qualified care staff. Our

team are there to assist with daily support when needed

including showering and dressing, dispensing medication,

mobility, rehabilitation and emotional support.

We are fully accredited by the Australian Aged Care

Quality Agency.

Meals

We will provide all your meals and snacks, with a sample

menu included in this pack. Your menu is specially prepared

onsite by our hospitality team to meet all your nutrition

needs and is seasonally based, to ensure the freshest of

ingredients are used. Of course, your family and loved

one are always welcome to bring in special treats.

Lifestyle and activities programs

Your wellbeing is at the heart of all we do. This is indicated

by your contentment, comfort, smiles and laughter,

as well as your social connections and engagement.

We will work with you to keep your mind and body active

– you’ll find there is something for everyone. An activities

program is included in this pack, to help you understand

the range of choices available. They can include exercise

and fitness classes, creative outlets like arts, crafts and

music and intellectually stimulating activities from trivia and

puzzles to quizzes. These are designed to help you enjoy

all aspects of your life and engage with those around you.

We also regularly celebrate special occasions and

events, and your family is always welcome to take part

in the festivities!
