In partnership with the Sour Community Disability Project (SCDP) and in Al Bass, Young Roots runs a four-week summer activities project for Palestinian refugee children aged between six and fourteen years old. This year, 75 children attended including some with disabilities. Young Roots continues to be the only organisation providing inclusive activities where children with disabilities can participate equally with non-disabled children. The activities consisted of games, art and craft and numeracy and literacy support in Arabic and English. Each week focused on a different theme including education, health, and the environment.

Creative art materials School Books

The children love to get creative! £5 will help us to buy supplies for our creative activities.

As part of the project, young refugees are supported in learning English and Arabic. £10 will allow us to purchase school books for 5 children.

Trip to the Qasmieh River

The children love swimming. £15 will allow 1 young person to attend a fun day out to the Qasmieh river.

Transport for Disabled Children

We’re the only project in the camp that is fully inclusive of disabled children. £20 will ensure 1 child with disabilities can travel to, and get to, our project!

With our partners, the Bhutanese Refugee Children Forum (BRCF), Young

Roots assists over 1500 young refugees in Nepal living in difficult

circumstances. Project activities include Nepalese children, in order to help

build trust and mutual understanding between refugees and local people.

Young refugees receive training in life skills and peer support.

Hut visits help us to identify and provide support to the most vulnerable children.

Help us to run a fun and educational theatre workshop for vulnerable young refugee children. £15 will fund 1 child to take part.
