By day, the Young Creative Council are a group of advertising creatives that work in agencies across London, Newcastle and New York.

By night, we join forces to offer help, support and advice to people starting out in the creative industry – through events, social channels, website and paid projects.

Who are we?

We’re looking to start up a magazine offering advice, insight and inspirational work in our fun but helpful tone. It’ll be aimed at students and grads in the creative industry.

We’d like to think of it as a comic, meets work book, meets handy little ad bible that will be a go-to for people at the beginning of their careers – whether they’ve been to university or not.

Our aim is to encourage young creatives to boldly do the unexpected. We want to inspire them to find their feet and tell them it’s ok to break the rules.

They need to see how and why they’ll need go beyond what they’re being taught in order to get noticed – and ultimately get a job.

We sit outside the uni bubble, the agency politics and the beasts that are charities, yet we bridge all of them. So now seems the right time to try something new.

As our motto says: people who do change the world. Everyone else is just living here.

Why now?

We’re assembling a team to create our first beta edition of our zine. They come from all walks of life and span every generation. From lecturers and planners to creatives and designers, we’ve always relied on the generosity of others – and this is no different.

We’re looking for articles, insights and anything else you think fits with our first edition’s theme of:

Get a job. Win awards. Put a book together. Do cool shit.But not always in that order.

Without putting a release date on it, a launch in time for D&AD’s New Blood in late June/early July would be good for the beta edition.
