said that every human pursues three things:
life (survival), liberty (freedom),
and property (owning things to help us
survive).
Mr. Locke called these NATURAL RIGHTS.

rights, there are also rights that are created by the laws. For example, Congress can pass a law that gives people
new rights!

For example, you can’t say whatever you want in a speech at a school event. Your school can require
you to be respectful and appropriate.
When you are an adult, you have more freedom to do and say what you want.

Using your pencil, sketch a quick flag on in the flag box of your paper. We
will use the back to make a bigger, more detailed flag.
Next, write a motto for your country. A motto is a short phrase that sums
up your ideals and beliefs.
For example, the motto of the USA is since 1956 is IN GOD WE TRUST. It is also the motto of the state of Florida
and the country of Nicaragua.
Texas’s motto is FRIENDSHIP. Wyoming’s motto is EQUAL RIGHTS.
In the box, there are five rights listed and five responsibilities listed. Sort the rights from responsibilities and write them into the scrolls at the bottom of the page.
When you get to the last line on the rights scroll, you need to make your own right up.
