A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO EXHIBITORS AND HANDLERS: We would like to thank exhibitors, handlers and friends who have given their generous support for our Specialties. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of the Nation’s Capital, its members & the Clarion Inn assume no responsibility for any loss or damages sustained by any exhibitor or his dogs. Exhibitors and handlers will be responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates and grooming area. Small private exercise pens will be allowed in the designated grooming area. Each exhibitor must provide moisture-proof carpet covering under each exercise pen. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made.

ACCOMMODATIONS Clarion Inn at Historic Carradoc Hall, 1500 East Market Street Rt 7, Leesburg, VA 20176, Phone: (703) 771-9200. A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel with a special show rate of $99 + tax per night, plus a non-refundable pet fee of $10.00 per room for the entire stay. State that you are with the Yorkshire Terrier Club of the Nations Capital Please make reservations as soon as possible. The rate will be valid as long as the hotel has rooms available, up to and including 28-Sep-2015. Please extend your utmost effort for cleanliness so that we may continue to hold our Specialty Show at this facility. The hotel has requested that dogs exercised outdoors be in the designated area. Dogs must be crated in rooms. Plastic is required under pens in rooms and in the ballroom.

POLICY FOR EXHIBITORS WITH MOTORHOMES There is a $25.00 per night parking charge during the Specialty for a very limited number of motor homes for the nights of October 9 and 10. There are no hookups of any kind. There is to be no discharging of holding tanks or any fluids from motor homes. Reservations must be made through Beverly Ferguson (410-255-7926, [email protected]).

NOTE: Novice conformation Classes & Amateur Owner Handler Classes will not be offered

Bred by Exhibitor (BBE) Class eligibility (revised 09/02) All dogs entered in the Bred by Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with

the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of

record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES

Veteran Classes –The Veterans classes are open to Dogs and Bitches 7 years of Age or Older. Winners of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed Competition. Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches are eligible to compete in this class. Best in Bred-by-Exhibitor: The Best in Bred-by-Exhibitor class will be chosen from the winners of the Bred-by-Exhibitor Dog class and the Bred-by-Exhibitor Bitch class. If one of the two was Best of Winners, there will be no competition and dog/bitch chosen Best of Winners will also be Best in Bred-by-Exhibitor.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES Stud Dog Class -For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for the breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Breed Competition or some other Non-Regular Class. Stud Dog need not be in show trim. Brood Bitch Class -Same as Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed or Variety by virtue of having won this class. TROPHIES MUST BE CLAIMED DURING THE SHOWS. NONE WILL BE MAILED. THE YORKSHIRE TERRIER CLUB OF THE NATION’S CAPITAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE PRIZES OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE SHOULD A PRIZE BECOME UNAVAILABLE.

Parade of Champions or Title Holders (Non-Competitive): Dogs entered in this class need

not be entered in a Regular Class. All dogs must be holders of an AKC Title. This class will not be judged. Cut downs welcome. A brief history of the Champion or Title Holder is required (show committee reserves the right to edit). Each dog will receive a ROSETTE.

TROPHIES/PRIZES: This is a condensed Premium List as authorized by the

American Kennel Club Rules, Chapter 6, Section 2-A. The Show Chairperson, Tanya Blumenschein, will make a complete list of trophies/prizes available upon request.

SHOW #1 - SWEEPSTAKES

The Sweepstakes is open to all Yorkshire Terriers 6 months and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. They must also be entered in a REGULAR CLASS. The Sweepstakes will be judged before the Regular Classes. Sweepstakes Eligibility: Neither Champions nor puppies that have earned major wins are eligible for competition. The entry is to be made at the SAME TIME as entries for the Regular Classes and on the regular official entry form which should be marked “Sweepstakes” and age division in the space provided for “additional classes”. Entry fee is $10 per entry. Classification Junior Dogs, 6 months & under 9 months Junior Bitches, 6 months & under 9 months One winner will be selected from the winners of the above classes as “Best 6 to 9 Month Puppy” Junior Dogs, 9 months & under 12 months Junior Bitches, 9 months & under 12 months One winner will be selected from the winners of the above classes as “Best 9 to 12 Month Puppy”

Best 6 to 9 Month Puppy and Best 9 to 12 Month Puppy will compete for “Best Junior Sweepstakes Winner”

Please Note: January 1, 2009 Obedience Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 3, Jump Heights are required with entry. Include Jump Height on entry form with class. Entries without Jump Height will be judged at the end of the class.

Qualifying Score Required for All Prizes in Regular and Optional Titling Classes Transfers will be allowed. "Dog" means either sex. Prizes will not be mailed.

All prizes if not awarded in the ring must be picked up during the show. Prizes will not be mailed. YTCNC reserves the right to make prize substitutions of equal or greater value in the event a specific listed prize is not available.

LUNCHEON MID-DAY

Must be pre-paid by October 1, 2015 The Club anticipates a break of about 1-1/2 hours between the two Specialty Shows so that exhibitors may rest and get something to eat. The actual time cannot be determined until entries close and judging schedules are set. The club has arranged for a single-price lunch. You may dine in the Terrace Room across from the Ballroom or you may carry your meal back into the Ballroom if you prefer to not leave your dogs unattended. The Restaurant will also be available, if needed. The per person cost of the lunch is $15.00 and includes the meal, beverage, tax and gratuity. Use one entry blank per dog only if information is exactly the SAME for each show. Carefully check the block(s) for each show in which you wish to enter your dog. You MUST use a SEPARATE entry blank if you are entering your dog in a different class in different shows (e.g., Open in the morning and American-Bred Class in the afternoon) or if you are entering an additional class in any of the shows (Bred-by-Exhibitor plus Novice B in the morning and Open Class in the afternoon).

Entries Not On Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are NOT ACCEPTABLE. Acknowledgement of entries will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. The person accompanying a dog must show tickets of admission and identification before the dog will be received. Should such acknowledgement not be received by the exhibitor within a reasonable time, please notify the Show Secretary. Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail. Tabulate carefully. Due to cost of processing, no refunds $4.00 and under will be made. AKC Event Service and a Recording Fees will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. These Event Service and Recording Fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, these Fees are to be collected on the first entry only. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. Post Dated Checks and Returned Checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. An Administrative Fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Errors on Entry Blanks: Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Dogs May Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising area. Class Cash Prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Show Secretary's Office advised at once. The Show Secretary and show-giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted.
