General Research Question

Current Problem

CHAOSDisorder with waiting people and pedestrians

AMBIGUITY There is no queue so hard to rec-ognise which part can make peo-ple make line.

SAFETY Bus stops randomly so makes people confused and put them in dan-gerous.

SANITATIONDepending on person, who wants to sit indivually or together. Unsanitary

route

When people step on the sensor on the pavement, the square shaped sensors make sound so people feel curious, caus-ing people to form a queue. Also, there are sensors on the driveway which indicates where the bus should stop. Usual-ly, when the buses are stopping in bus stop, it is confusing for the driver to know where to stop and the passengers need to queue. If there is prevention/device in the form of a sensor, it could be easily recognised where the bus should be stopped. Both sensors are saving energy when they are pressed by peo-ple and buses, thus, the saved energy produced light on the bus route(LED) and also travel map which shows the route for travellers.

Research

Medical history - In every day life we are faced with walking, bending, straining of the joints in the mostly the knee. This over time can “wear” the ligaments and fluid which surround the knee cap. As the knee begins to grind against the leg bones it can become more than obvious that the patiet is in a great deal of pain. In most cases over 45% of people in the U.K. alone suffer from arthritis in the knee and more than 20% overall suffer in the lower leg region.

- The person bends the knee and spine with all the weight pushing on the knee joint.

- When sat, the “patients’” knee is usually facing a nighty degree angle.

- Patient has to straighten leg out.

-This is very un-comfortable.

- When Standing up again the patient has to place weight on both wrist’s to push themselves out of the chair.

We began to look into existing designs which help with arthritis in the knee. These simple tools are placed into current chairs to help the people who suffer with pain when bending the knees. We also started to look into existing chairs which we believe to be modern, contemprorary and when re-designed with our design language will be efficient and effective without the need of extra aid.

When sitting down.

This is our final concept. The chair balances when seated backwards and forwards when the person wishes to climb into or out of the chair. The rear arm lifts the chair from an almost lying down position, mostly used to that of a dentist-ry chair.

The rear mechanism, has three angled states. they are positioned in this way so that the weight can be distributed when lifting the patient. The surfaces are flat so that no traction is lost.

The button controlled by the patient, is pushed when they desire to be seat-ed in the lying down position and also when they wish to be raised back up so they can effortlessly lean out of the seat..
