RELIGIOUS VIEWS OF ANCIENT KEMETSome Basic Things that Practitioners of Kemetic Yoga Should be Very Clear On

Why do some people believe the bible is a history book? There is a lot of misinformation in the bible that creates a falsified history of Africa and gives people a misconception of reality. 1. Were the Hebrews enslaved in Egypt by "Pharaoh"? Answer: NO! The people who built the pyramids and monuments of Kemet "ancient Egypt" were well paid and highly skilled artisans. No Hebrew slaves were involved with any of
this. 2. Did "God" put plagues on the ancient Egyptians and force them to "let my people go" which allowed Moses to part the Red sea and swallow up the pursuing Kemetic army? Answer: NO! The Hebrews were expelled out of Egypt after having been guest immigrants and gaining protection from their enemies. They were expelled after betraying the ancient Egyptians by siding with Asiatic invaders. 3. Did
the ancient Egyptians worship many gods? Answer: NO! Their term for the creator of the universe that is all-knowing, all-powerful, omniscient and unknowable is NTR. Their term for what European scholars and other uniformed people call the gods is NTRU. The ancient Egyptians were scientists, not idiots who believed the sun is God! Think about it.

Yoga is not "That Ole' Voodoo Stuff."~YenNefer Maat of YenYangYoga
"You know some people think Yoga is that ole' Voodoo Stuff!", she said very aggressively as to express some negative perspectives her peers had of Yoga and Voodoo, and that somehow they must be related. As I handed her one of my YenYangYoga flyers on what Kemetic Yoga is and the upcoming Four Week Challenge, I would be teaching at Liberty Garden Park, I thought, "they're misinformed. Voodoo meaning Vodun and Yoga , where would I start ?" I took a deep breath in and exhaled letting her know that the flyer gave more details about yoga and I hoped to see her at the park for class. She had invited me to teach Yoga at her church. As I walked off, I shook my head and contemplated if the detail about our Kemetic-Egyptian Ancestors would have her snatch back her invitation and if it would further encourage her current paradigm or bring some light of truth to her thinking. I didn't know, most "church folk" around this part, condemn anything that ain't Jesus. Even though Jesus himself, didn't condemn anyone. How hypocritical, I thought. Seemingly so, I have not heard from or seen that lady again.As I laugh to myself as to shake off the distress I feel, it is very evident that much re-education is needed in our community. We are too many times, too many generations educated by the television and other mainstream media about those subjects or topics not taught in schools. Not to say, that the information taught in our schools is completely true either. Only to say, it seems to be our only other source of information. For the most part, the television/mainstream media has formed most of our ideologies about society and our worldviews or lack thereof. I know many have pondered, what if all that information was controlled or filtered to steer the societal mind in a particular direction. What if that controller was say, "evil"? Yet, we know
that there are many that are much too weighted to ponder the thought. Hey, this is one or two aspects, so to speak, of the vast earth that we live...what about all the other subjects, ideas, cultures, histories that have been painted from one perspective!Where does one begin to unravel the knots that have been created in our historical view of the past? There seems to be a tangled web of religious teachings and backwards thinking of other cultures that block our innerstanding of spirituality. Some words spoken to an African American Religious Christian that seem to jog thought processes are: Spirit, Spirituality, Ancestors, Egypt, Egyptian, etc. There is a disconnect.Currently, I do not teach at at gym, anyone's church and I do not have my own yoga "studio." During the late spring, summer, and early fall, I would practice outside at Liberty Garden Park and invite folk along for a class. I have not had a strong enough desire to teach at a gym. I contemplated the YMCA and even the new Health and Wellness Gym opening here. Something in my spirit, doesn't want to. Yoga is not JUST an exercise, yoga is NOT about stretching your body in elaborate fashions and seeing who can do the most advanced poses. Yet, there is an air about it in some circles, that that is all that it is. It is so much more. It is Sacred. I decided, that I will share/teach it in its essence and totality. If I have to water it down; by not calling it Kemetic, by leaving out its origins, by not acknowledging our ancestors, then I don't want to do it--under those conditions. I'd rather keep teaching through my writing, sharing, Skype, and in the Creators most beautiful setting-NATURE.

Education System and Libraries have distorted and censored our Indigenous Legacy all over the world, however lets not leave out the Film Industry and thank Cecil B. DeMille for engraving the inaccurate Biblical depictions of Egypt and Egyptians into the minds of many, here are some facts regarding his 1956 release of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS:
Every year since 1973, American TV network ABC airs this film on Easter, or Passover. In 1999, when for some reason ABC chose not to televise it, they received numerous irate phone calls from people accustomed to watching it every Easter than they have for any other film they have ever telecast.
Up until the release of The Passion of the Christ in 2004, The Ten Commandments was the highest grossing religious epic in history, earning over $65.5 million in 1956. (This translates into $446 million [$446,000,000 numerically], in current figures and inflation, throughout the years.)
