events for the community could also include: trophy tours, autograph signings, pre-competition games. Benefits to the community: Working with Hockey Canada, we intend to replicate a ticket donation program for those who purchased full packages to ensure that all games are well attended. Access for underprivileged and targeted communities will also be managed through ticket donations and ancillary event invitations. Volunteer opportunities: Many – the Host Organizing Committee will leverage volunteer leadership roles and a full volunteer recruitment structure will be leveraged for the execution of the event Participation opportunities: Ancillary events like a fan fest and other activations in the community through skating programs and sponsor activations Outreach Programs to involve wider community: Working with the Park Board, we will build out integrate WJC branded skating programs to leverage the event in advance and following the competition. Socially, the event is very engaging (see below) – the reach is unparalleled locally, especially during this time of year.

Hi everyone,
There is no immediate action on this agenda item, but more of a reference as we prepare for the SHV Governance meetings that are set for the end of April and early May.
Closer to the date we will request feedback and critical questions so we can prepare a brief for the moderator that will host those sessions.
Thanks,Michelle
