Does there have to be titles for roles of executive? What are the role descriptions of executive? How much time would I need to dedicate if I was to take on a role? Can we share executive roles? The Fun Run was a great suc-cess - we had fantastic weather and good participa-tion. Please send sponsorship forms and money to school as soon as possible so that orders for prizes can be sent away. We hope to do this at the be-ginning of next week. If you raised over $10 don’t forget to indicate your choice of prize on your sponsorship form.

Join students around NSW and walk to school on tomorrow...... And to encourage us all to make the effort the canteen will be serving special hot breakfasts from 8.20am. So organise your friends, have some fun and exercise, walk to school and enjoy breakfast. ....What a way to start the day!!

This week’s rule is ‘Arrive at school after 8.20 am but before 8.50am.’

Simultaneous Storytime Orara Public School From Halfway Around the World Premier’s Reading Challenge

    “Feathers for Phoebe”

On Wednesday 25th May our students are invited to our Library at 11.00 am to participate in the National Simultaneous Storytime 2011 and listen to a reading of “Feathers for Phoebe” a wonder-fully illustrated Australian tale about self-esteem, self-acceptance and learning that appearances aren't everything. This is an optional lunchtime activity.

Orara Public School Library recently lost books in a fire. We are sending a copy of “Feathers for Phoebe” to Orara PS on behalf of the students from Kincumber PS. When Kincumber PS was in the same situation in the past, many schools assisted us. This is an op-portunity for our students to show charity for their peers.

From Halfway Around the World – a Book Week performance for K-6 students will be at Kincumber PS on the 24th August. The cost is $4.00, notes will be coming home later this term.

Congratulations to all the students who have started the Premier’s Reading Challenge. I encourage all students to read a PRC book each week. Also, a special mention to Stage 1 students Sasha and Caitlin who have successfully logged onto the PRC 2011. Students may log into their PRC Reading Record from home via their DET portal.
