2014 Super Service Challenge• Who did you serve, and what did you accomplish that day?

Our volunteer team served YLC Recycles, which is a YLC project that works with volunteers to collect recyclable items at New Orleans public festivals and other events. Our team collected recyclable items, emptied recycling bins, and delivered items to the recycling center at the NOLA on Tap event held on September 17 th, 2013 at New Orleans City Park

Volunteers Katie VanDeventer, Carrie Stuckwisch, Michelle Cohen, Gabe Bordenave and Sarah Welinksy spend more than 6 hours at the event collecting items and supervising the recycling services.

• What is your team's plan for an ongoing relationship with the nonprofit?YLC Recycles is the brainchild of volunteer Katie VanDeventer. Katie serves at the project volunteer project leader. Everyone that

participated in the NOLA on Tap event had a great time, and each volunteer plans to return for other YLC Recycles volunteer opportunities in the future.

• What would your nonprofit do if they won part of the prize money?YLC Recycles will use the prize money to cover the costs of their volunteer project, including the costs of bins, transporting the

recyclables to the recycling center, and paying for bags and other clean-up tools. As a new project, they hope to increase funding so they can reach additional festivals, and eventually ensure that every New Orleans festival has recycling as an option.
