Department of Biochemistry situated in 1st floor of academic block. The Department of Biochemistry is recognized for its quality teaching of undergraduate students, patient care and medical research. The faculty is involved extensively in research activities related to basic, clinical and translational biomedical research. Currently there are 11 faculty members, including 3 Professors, 3 Associate professors, an Assistant professor and 4 tutors.
2. OBJECTIVES
1. To offer excellent standard in undergraduate and post graduate teaching. 2. To encourage student participation in conferences and research activities. 3. To conduct research in basic, clinical and biomedical research. 4. To provide good patient care in the form of biochemical tests by strictly
implementing quality control and generating accurate results.

6. SERVICES PROVIDED Besides training under-graduate and post-graduate students, the department provides the diagnostic patient care laboratory services. To ensure best patient care we are strictly implementing quality control and generating accurate results.Tests done in clinical biochemistry lab are- Blood: Glucose Urea, creatinine Serum electrolytes, Hepatobiliary function tests (total and direct bilirubin, AST, ALT, ALP, GGT, Total protein and albumin) Amylase, CK, CK-MB Lipid profile Calcium, Phosphorus, Uric acid, Lithium, Bicarbonate, Ammonia Urine: protein, Calcium, Uric acid Phosphorus, Creatinine, Osmolality Blood gas analysis Hormones: FT3, FT4, TSH, CA- 125, PSA, 25 hydroxy vitamin D, Ferritin, Iron.

1. E- LEARNING: Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate actively in forum and discussions held on the Yengage web portal. All the presentations and notes of each theory lectures in pdf format are made by the faculty are uploaded on the Yengage, so that it is accessible for students at all times. Regular online MCQ tests on recent theory topics are conducted in the digital library.
2. Objective structured Practical examination (OSPE) is introduced to the
undergraduate curriculum for better assessment of practical skills of undergraduate students.
