DAY4 - MONDAY 4TH NOVEMBER 2013

PASTORAL CARE

FAMILYJames 3:14 (New Believers Version) But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your hearts do not brag about being wise that is the worst kind of lie .15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and motivated by the devil.16 for wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every kind of evil.17 but the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere.Thank God for the families and marriages in our church. Some of the issues that we

battle with in our families include infidelity, unforgiveness and lack of time with our

loved ones. This happens as a result of being selfish, bitter and jealous. Using the

scripture above take time to pray for Godly wisdom i.e. peace, love, gentleness, mercy,

kindness, submission to god and one another and being sincere at all times.

eGROUPSHebrew 10:23(New Believers Version) without wavering let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. 25 and let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming again is drawing near.Thank God for all the active eGroups, their consistency, commitment to God and

church. In the scripture above God is commanding us not to forsake the gathering of

believers as it spurs one another to keep our faith strong. We pray that those who are

not in e-groups will take a step of faith and join one so as to find a place of fellowship.

We pray that through the power of the Holy Spirit God will activate all the dormant

eGroups so as to impact our church and community at large.

PLUG-IN Mathew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 20 teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.The Nairobi Chapel Vision is to disciple 100,000 people by year 2020, Plug-In is one

of the main channels by which we disciple. Let’s take time to pray that God will use

Plug-In and other channels in our church to bring as many people as possible to

faith in Jesus Christ. We pray that people will create time to do discipleship and to

also disciple others through facilitating Plug-In or giving capacity to different ministry

departments.

MAN ENOUGH2Timothy 2:2 You have heard me teach you many things that have been confirmed to many reliable witnesses teach these great truths to reliable men who are able to pass them to others.God has called men as leaders and priests of their home, to teach, provide and guide.

This is not obviously the case since most of the men have been hurt and disappointed

by their fathers. We pray that there will be forgiveness and reconciliation between

fathers and sons. Let us pray that through the program of Man Enough God will raise

men who fear God, love their families as Christ loved the Church. Pray that men take

up their responsibilities as leaders in their homes, workplace and society at large.

DAY5 -TUESDAY 5TH NOVEMBER 2013

MISSIONS AND KINARA LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

MISSIONRomans 10:14-15: 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!”The word of God gives us an understanding that there’s a need for us to raise ministers

to evangelize and grow the kingdom of God. Pray that God will raise support teams

that are ready to work and to be sent for church planting. We pray that God will provide

for the vision of planting 300 churches. Pray that as pastors go to plant churches, they

will be relevant and find favor with the country and city they occupy.

KINARA1Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in Purity.We thank God for the interns that have joined us for the next one year in our leadership

program. We pray that through the program, they will develop their leadership capacity

and raise adequate financial support during this season. Pray that God will give them

confidence, grace and wisdom to use their leadership skills to greatly impact both the

present and future generation.

DAY6 -WEDNESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2013

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND ADULT SERVICE

SOCIAL JUSTICEJames 2:15-16 suppose you see a brother or sister, who needs food or clothing, and you say, ‘well, goodbye and God bless you; stay warm and eat well,’ but then you do not give that person any food or clothing. What good that does do?Thank God for the positive support of our congregation in donating food to help the

needy. We also thank God for the spiritual growth of the Upendo women and the

businesses they have started to improve their economic status. We thank God for the

many stories of transformation coming through the Jubilee 2013 initiative. We pray

for more impact and more life changing stories and experiences.

Pray that God will continuously use us through acts of benevolence to adequately

feed and support the poor among us. Pray that God will establish new networks for

jobs, social skills empowerment to improve and add value to their wellbeing.

The scholarship program has benefited many young people and given them a chance

to dream again. This year, the Jubilee Scholarship fund is raising 50 million shillings

through the bicker race to help more students go to school. Let us take time to pray

for their journey and safety as they ride to South Africa. Pray for their health and favor

with God and men.

ADULT SERVICES1 Corinthians 14:40-but be sure that everything is done properly and in order.Our God is a God of order and excellence, and He desires that in all that we do, we

maintain that standard. Pray that God will give the services department a spirit of

excellence as they organize and co-ordinate the service. Pray that God will provide

adequate finances in order to accomplish their various needs in the department. Pray

for more volunteers to join the department i.e. sound technicians and engineers.

DAY7 -THURSDAY 7TH NOVEMBER 2013

YOUNG ADULTS (BLITZ), YOUTH (CLUB XP), CHILDREN (QUEST)

CHILDREN (QUEST)Deuteronomy 6:6- 9 and you must commit yourselves whole heartedly to those commands I am giving you today, repeat them again and again to your children, talk about them when you are at home and when you away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again. Tie them to your heart as a reminder and wear them on your forehead. Write them on the door post of your house and your gates.Parents we have been commanded by God to obey his word and to teach our children

the ways of God, so that the character of God can be cultivated in them. Pray that as

parents, we will take our responsibility in teaching God’s word to our children so that

our children’s department (Quest) can be effective. Let us take time to pray for more

volunteers to help in teaching, assisting and praying for the children.

Take time to pray for the upcoming children’s prayer day scheduled on the 9th of

November 2013.They will also be having a Johari camp taking place on the 8th to the

13th of November, pray that the children will enjoy both the events and that they will

grow and experience God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

YOUTH (CLUB EXPRESSION)Ecclesiastes 12:1, 6 Do not let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and no longer enjoy living.6-Yes, remember your creator now while you are young, before the silver code of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken, do not wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well.

Camps: In the next 7 weeks, XP, our teens ministry here at Nairobi Chapel is preparing for three

camps:

The Moran Camp from the 21st-30th of November a 10 day circumcision camp for

boys ages 12-14yrs. Ropes camp will run from 9th - 14th December, which is the Rites

of Passage into the Teens service.

Camp 360 is the annual teens camp together with Chapel sister churches and will run

from the 16th - 21st of December; the camp has been dubbed “This means War”. Pray

with the XP leaders as they plan/ run the different camps - for discernment, grace and

wisdom as they deal with the teens, also pray for the teens as they plan to attend the

camps that there will be transformation.

Services:We thank the Lord for the teens and their dedication and service at the Teens Church-

XP. November is dubbed Xpress Fest' where the teens get to express their faith through

their gifts and talents. 4 teens will be preaching on the 17th and 24th at the various

services, culminating on 1st December 2013 with exciting services: worship, dance,

music, art and poetry. We pray that the Lord will continue to guide the teens as they

prepare for this.

Kuhani: We thank God for the blessing upon our teenagers. We pray for Kuhani - Our Worship

team and Band made up of talented/ gifted young people enthusiastic to serve each

other and the Lord. Their participation is mainly based on the school systems having

seasons of hibernation for exams. We pray that more will join the team and that the

Lord will renew their strength, knowledge and understanding of Him and that they

will grow to greater heights as they continue to serve. We are thankful that the parents

encourage their children serve at church.

YOUNG ADULTS (BLITZ)Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 Young man, it is wonderful to be young, enjoy every minute of it.do everything you want to do. So banish grief and pain, but remember that youth, with a whole life before it, still faces the threat of meaninglessnessBeing young is a beautiful thing but more so a responsibility. We pray that as the

young people enjoy their youth that they will remember God in their day to day life.

Many live their lives forgetting there is a God; hence they engage themselves in evil,

immorality, lies etc. These actions result to regrets and sometimes death. Pray that the

young people in Blitz will find God and allow the word of God to work in them and

transform them to the image of Christ. Pray that they will not waste their youth, but

they will influence the present and the next generation.

WEEK 2 - FRIDAY 8TH - SUNDAY 10TH

NAIROBI CHAPEL CHURCHES

Matthew 28:18 -Then Jesus came and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and the son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

As we enter into our second week of prayer and fasting, we will be turning our focus to

praying for all Nairobi Chapel Churches. To reach our vision of planting 300 Churches

by 2020, we have to continue to go and make disciples of all "nations". God is giving

us wonderful opportunities by opening "nations" to us both within and without our

nation. As we pray and fast, let us have faith that many will believe, many will be

baptized and that many will be saved as we stay committed to the vision that God

has given us as a Church.

Let us join together and stand in the gap with our Sister Churches, Daughter Churches

and up-coming Church Plants.

DAY8 – FRIDAY 8TH NOVEMBER 2013

SISTER AND DAUGHTER CHURCHES.1st coronicles16.8 Give thanks to the lord, call on his name, make known among the nations what he has done.Thank God for all the Nairobi Chapel sister and daughter churches that have started

by the grace of God. Take time to specifically thank God for each church and what the

lord has done. Our sister churches are: Mavuno Church, Mamlaka Hill Chapel, Karura

Community Chapel, Kileleshwa Covenant Community Church , Life spring Chapel

Churches. The Trinity Chapel (TC) churches include TC-Mombasa, TC- Ruiru, TC-

Meru, TC-Kigali, TC-Addis Ababa, TC-Monrovia, TC-Juba, Kikuyu church and Nairobi

Chapel Ongata Rongai.

We thank God for all the pastors and their families for answering to the call of God to

start churches. Take time to specifically pray for each family.

DAY9 – SATURDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2013

TRINITY CHURCHES.Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given you, as I said to Moses.

Phil 4: 19 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.As we focus on the wider vision of Nairobi chapel, (Growing D.E.E.P to reach W.I.D.E)

let’s thank God for the Trinity Chapel churches in Meru, Mombasa, Ruiru, Juba,

Rwanda and Liberia for the favor and grace He has granted so far and let’s continue

to pray that God will raise up men and women from Nairobi Chapel who have the

burden to stand with these churches financially.

Let’s pray that these churches will conquer and poses not only the cities and towns

in which they are planted but that they will expand to the surrounding towns as per

the vision of Nairobi chapel. As they expand, let’s continue to pray that God will open

doors for registration and licensing and also provide for lands for putting up church

structures and facilities.

DAY10– SUNDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2013

UPCOMING CHURCHES.Joshua 1.9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the lord your God will be with you wherever you go.We have three churches that are in the process of being launched: Nairobi Chapel

Utawala, Nairobi Chapel Waiyaki Way and Trinity Chapel Gaborone. Pray that the

churches will find premises or land where they will start the church, and that God will

raise a team to go with them and support the team financially.

To the team going to Gaborone, Botswana, pray that the Lord will grant them favor

when they go to register the church. This is because, churches are under attack in

Botswana and it’s therefore hard to register churches. Also pray for the men and women

of God as they lead the body of Christ in Botswana amidst oppression and frustration,

that the Lord will protect them and their families and give them perseverance during

this difficult time. There are 65 people who have been identified to do Plug-In. Pray

that their lives will be transformed during the 10 weeks of discipleship and that they

will also plug into the ministry of the church.

Let’s pray for the team going to Lilongwe, Malawi in January for a mission that the

Lord will provide funds required for the trip. We also pray for protection and favor

with God and with men there. We also pray that the Kenyan community in Malawi

may identify with TC Lilogwe and support the church in all possible ways especially

now that the country is going through economic inflation. May God will give them

confidence and strength both physically and spiritually as they go out to serve.
