Interdisciplinary Year Book

My part within this collaboration has been different to most that I have been in before. My main role was within the concept buiding of the brief and year book as opposed to focussing on the designing side. Here are just some initial works from the process of the year book. I attended every meeting and took notes and dates.

Pre and Post

The course had a good idea of what they wanted and were balanced with our ideas and plans. We wanted to keep the front cover simple so as to highlight the imporatance of the contents. The book is called Pre* which is simply the collection of their working journey through the college in visual and written form. Post* is what is next for them and who they have now become because of the course.

The Making of Pre* exhibition.

It was important to Interdisciplinary that the posters we designed for their exhibition were edited daily - not only to work along side the concept of pre* but also as their dates and times changed and were not set in stone. We came up with the concept of making some black boards and just have type on using vinyl. It worked well in the space they had.

The Making of Pre* exhibition.

The year book as you can see came together efficiently due to the solid con-cept we had put together. Post* is inserted on the back page of the book which is also supported by a sticker on the back cover. they are joined using an elastic band. The idea seemed perfect for the relationship between pre and post.

Little details

Interdisciplinary wanted to put some of the boards around college and so I suggested it might work to use a black board/cork board combo to account for the large space they had to fill. This ended up being the perfect fit for the flyers to stand and be grabbed too.
