There are a lot of attractions in Horwich which make it a good place to live or visit. Horwich has a fire station that is near to my house. Our school is called Horwich Parish C.E school. It was built in 1832. The leisure centre, which is just down the road from school has a swimming pool, gym, sports hall, badminton and squash courts. We live near a fantastic park (Station Park) which has a childrens play area, paths for cycling all weather football pitch and a stream running through it. By Matthew and Charlie.,

In Horwich, there is a lot of interesting attractions but my favorite place is Spirit of sport. My friend (Karis) is on this large monument. This is designed for people who have done something special in sport like Basketball, Rugby, Football or tennis. The monument is in the heart of Horwich near the Reebok and Middle brook. You can drive past this high up figure also walk past it.

Horwich in 100 wordsThe Leisure Centre is a good place for swimming and doing lots of different sports such as football and swimming. Also there is Station Park. Roundabouts and slides are found in the park and so are climbing frames. On the other side of the park there is a place for people who like going up ramps. In the middle is an Astroturf for footballers. The nets are wide but are small so it is hard to save the goals. It hurts when you slide on the ground it makes your legs red if you have short socks but luckily if you have long socks it won’t hurt.

This is Station Park in Horwich. It used to be a Train Station, that’s where its name comes from. It’s fun and amusing to play on and has 2 parts! Also it has slippery slides, round tunnels, a giant football pitch and the most popular of them all the swings! It also has springy see-saws which spring up and down every time you ride them! It also has Towering trees, singing birds’ and of course the park itself! Since this park has been built, many people have been using it, but now not as many people go on it. Thank you for reading this message. What does your town look like?
