Year 11 Mock Examinations and JCQ Information for Candidates

Year11studentswillbetakingtheirGCSEmockexaminationsfromMonday 7 to Friday 7 December.

Thefulltimetablefortheseexaminationsisshownonthereverseofthisletter.Personaltimetableswillbe

issuedtostudentsshortly.

The rules and regulations governing examinations and controlled assessments, which schools and

studentsarerequiredtofollow,areestablishedbyJCQ CIC,whichrepresentsthesevenlargestnational

awardingbodiesofferingqualificationsintheUK.Toensurethatstudentsunderstandtheirresponsibilities

andcomplywiththerules,JCQhasproducedthefollowingdocuments,whichstudentsneedtoreadand

understand.Theyareavailableontheschoolwebsite;inthemainmenuatthetop,navigatetoOurSchool

/Examinations.

Breachesoftheserulescouldleadtodisqualificationinthesubjectconcernedoreveninallsubjectsin

certaincases.

Mockexaminationsarerunaccordingtothesamerulesandregulations.Thisistoensurethatexamination

roomsaresilentandthatnomalpracticeoccurs,sothatallstudentshavetheopportunitytoperformtothebestoftheirability.Thereforeifanystudentbreakstherules,theywillberemovedfromtheexamination

andtheirmarkwillbecancelled.Keypointstonotearethat:

Studentsmustbesilentatalltimeswheninanexaminationorwhenenteringorbeingdismissed

fromanexaminationroom.

Mobilephonesandelectronically-enableddevices,suchassmartwatches,areforbidden.

Studentsarrivinglatemaynotgetthefulltimefortheexamination.

Formanymorningandafternoonexaminations,staffmayrunwarm-upsessionsinclassrooms-students

shouldspeaktotheirteacheraboutthis.Beforeeachexamination,studentsshouldlineupinthecanteen
