We only need two for each week, so if we have more than six, they only need to monitor once or twice per month. A cool outfit (kids will love to see you around) with a signal wand will be provided, and you will have fun with kids. Please contact Krissie, Rita or me if you are interested as well. On the way to the church from the rectory on Sunday, I met a UMHB freshman who walked all the way from the cam- pus to attend 10:30 Mass. She said that she did not have any transportation, but she came any way. Her faith deeply touched my heart! I also heard many heroic stories of our visiting missionary priest, Fr. Mitch who served in Africa for almost 20 years. I greatly appreci- ate his missionary and priestly ministry to all he encountered. It is often said that we are losing our faith in this world, but, I can still see the witness of faith all around our life. God loves each one of you very much! Dear sisters and brothers in Christ:

The new semester has begun! While a few kids are going through the mourning stage from the excitement of summer break, I am sure

that some parents may feel relieved that their kids are going back to school. I, too, became a student this year at Holy Trinity Catholic

High School. I will take Spanish Level 1 class with 16 other “classmates.” When the students saw me in class, they asked, “What are

you doing here, Father?” “I am a student, just like you! You are my classmate, buddy.” They couldn’t believe this. Indeed, it is ironic

that I am going back to high school as a student after many years of graduate schools. What can I say but such is an excitement of life?

(^o^)

Our Religious Education also begins on September 7th, and we need your help please. We need a 5 th grade

Catechist and aide. I would especially like to invite anyone who has never taught catechism before. You

might feel inadequate or do not know where to begin. I understand very well how you might feel since I

was like you, but regardless of fear and uncertainty, I decided to become a volunteer catechist for 6 th grade

when I was a college student in S. Korea. At the beginning, I was not sure how to bring Christ to those

kids, but thanks to all of the materials and support from my fellow catechists, I eventually loved doing it. I

thought that I was teaching something about faith, but I was the one who learned a lot about faith. So, I

would like to invite anyone who has a glimpse of an interest in bringing Christ to our children. I am more

than happy to answer any questions that you might have. St. John Paul II often said, “Do not be afraid”

whenever he addressed the youth, and I would like to invite you the same way. My sisters and brothers,

do not be afraid! The Holy Spirit will guide you! Please contact Krissie, Rita or me if you are interested.

Also, I would like to invite six - eight volunteers whose role will be a parish road patrol between buildings. Due to the

expansion of the office, the portable building will be used as a classroom, and since it does not have a rest room, I hope

two adults will guide and monitor between the portable building, the parish hall, and the office / RE building, especially

when parents pick up their kids after Religious Education classes. We only need two for each week, so if we have more

than six, they only need to monitor once or twice per month. A cool outfit (kids will love to see you around) with a

signal wand will be provided, and you will have fun with kids. Please contact Krissie, Rita or me if you are interested

as well.

On the way to the church from the rectory on Sunday, I met a UMHB freshman who walked all the way from the cam-

pus to attend 10:30 Mass. She said that she did not have any transportation, but she came any way. Her faith deeply touched my heart!

I also heard many heroic stories of our visiting missionary priest, Fr. Mitch who served in Africa for almost 20 years. I greatly appreci-

ate his missionary and priestly ministry to all he encountered. It is often said that we are losing our faith in this world, but, I can still see

the witness of faith all around our life.

God loves each one of you very much!

Lord, The plight of our country is deep and the suffering of Christians is severe and frightening. Therefore, we ask you Lord to spare our lives, and to grant us patience, and courage to continue our witness of Christian values with trust and hope. Lord, peace is the foundation of life; Grant us the peace and stability that will enable us to live with each other without fear and anxiety, and with dignity and joy. Glory be to you forever.
