Description1/4" PermaBase® BRANDUltraBacker™Cement Board is used as an under-layment for ceramic tile on floors,countertops, tub decks and outdoorkitchen counters.

PermaBase UltraBacker is a rigidsubstrate made of Portland Cement,aggregate and a glass mesh and matfacer that provides an exceptionallyhard, smooth and durable surfacethat is able to withstand prolongedexposure to moisture.

1/4" PermaBase UltraBacker offers acompetitive advantage over similarproducts on the market with itspatented EdgeTech® technology.The tapered, reinforced edgedesign allows for closer nail orscrew application to the edgewhile helping prevent damage intransit and on the jobsite.

For flooring applications with 19.2"o.c. and 24" o.c. floor joists, 3/4"tongue and groove exterior gradeplywood or OSB must be used. Tilesize for floors with 24" o.c. floorjoists must be 12" x 12" or larger.

HandlingRecommendationsThe advanced design of the productusing fiberglass mat/mesh technol-ogy allows for easy and straight cutswith a standard utility knife. CuttingPermaBase UltraBacker with powertools is not recommended. Due tothe fiberglass, dust and glass fibersmay be released during normalhandling and installation whichcould result in eye or skin irritation.Whenever possible, avoid contactwith the skin and eyes and avoidbreathing dust or fibers that may bereleased during handling/instillation.Consult the MSDS for this product,available at permabase.com.
