Quality ControlA comprehensive onboard QC package enables optimal monitoring of system performance. The XL2280 stores up to 12 QC control lots with 3 levels each. QC values can be loaded via keyboard, disk or USB key. A log of QC data with automatic calculation of mean, SD, CV can be viewed and printed. QC data can be viewed in a monthly Levey-Jennings format.

Bull’s moving average can also be viewed and printed. For comparison with other systems, the system can be enrolled in peer review programs.

Sample HandlingThe XL2280 analyzes whole blood samples collected in EDTA tubes. The system may be used in either direct sample mode or with an optional 30-position autosampler. The autosampler continuously mixes, reads barcodes (optional) pierces tube caps and automatically aspirates samples. Whole blood sample size is dependent upon mode: 180μL in Direct Sample Mode / 90μL in Sample Saver Mode / 180μL using the Autosampler mode.

Dilution SystemIn order to maximize performance and reduce instrument downtime a high-precision ceramic shear valve and computer-controlled reagent dispenser are used. Automatic rinse inside and outside of the sample probe prevents carryover and reduces risk of transmission of blood borne pathogens to operators.

SoftwareThe robust XL2280 software is easy to use,giving rapid access to all patientinformation including full blood counts,demographics, and patient history.

Continuous feedback of system operationis provided by a full range of diagnosticsalerts.

The system has user programmableautomatic startup and shutdownprocedures. A maintenance log isavailable which records all the routinemaintenance operations such as startup,shutdown, reagent replacement, andcalibration.

A fully demographic integrated database is capable of storing up to 100,000 resultswith scattergrams and histograms. Thesystem allows input of sample ID, PID,name, gender, date of birth, andcomments. It is LIS-compatible using ASTM or other transfer protocols.
