• Limits of detection: not as low as laboratory techniques (e.g. ICP or AA or assay methods).

• Cannot measure Li, B, Na...

• Cannot measure compounds (e.g. Fe2O3): elemental analysis only, with pre-defined post-analytical

calculations (i.e. Fe2O3 content calculated from Fe content).

• Cannot be used for certification (i.e. HHXRF is not a reference method).

Limitations of HHXRF

HHXRF is a great screening tool that enables to reduce

dramatically the number of analyses sent to the lab and

obtain results on-site, faster.

• Tested by STUK (Finnish Nuclear and Radiation safety authority),

independent test laboratory.

• With maximum voltage and current settings leaking radiation

is less than 1 μSv/h from any surface.

• Two independent proximity sensors for maximum safety, and

ensure that the analyser is in contact with the sample before

starting the measurement: IR sensor & count rate sensor.

• Highly visible ‘X-RAYS ON’ lights.

• Password protected. PIN code is required to initiate the unit. If the

analyser is not being used for 5 minutes or more, the user will

need to log in again to use the analyser.

• User training is always provided by Hitachi or authorised partners.
