Presence of the two acid groups in the N,N-dicarboxy- ethyl benzenesulfonamide molecule indicates that this product may be par- ticularly useful in the production of plasticizers and polyamide, polyester and alkyd resins. The two reactive cyano groups in the N,N-dicyanoethyl benzenesulfonamide molecular configuration suggest the use of this product as an intermediate in the preparation of aldehydes, amines, acids and esters. Many of the esters of both products are relatively non-volatile, pointing to the possibility of using them &s plasticizers and solvents. The sulfonamide group suggests the use of these two new chemicals as pharmaceutical agents or intermediates. A s YOU may see from the diagrams above, each of these chemicals contains two reactive groups. Presence of the two acid groups in the N,N-dicarboxy-ethyl benzenesulfonamide molecule indicates that this product may be particularly useful in the production of plasticizers and polyamide, polyester and alkyd resins.
