Item Template Basics


Introduction

This session for beginners teaches you how to streamline data entry through pre-configured item templates that contain job production requirements, job material needs and scheduling details.

You will also learn how to use item templates for manual job entry, web-to-print orders, and to allow for automatic replenishment of finished goods items.

Item Template Types

• Administration System Setup General Connect Item Template Types

• Those that add a part (New Part)(Generally, printing jobs)

• Those that do not add a part (New Material)(Generally, fulfillment jobs)

• Current other uses– Organization and reporting– Additional functionality likely in the future


Adding A New Item Template• Administration System Setup General

Connect Item Templates• Fields:

– Item Template Type – Determines whether to add a new part, or add to the existing part

– Description – The description of this template– Note – Additional info (generally internal) about this template– Job Product Type – A required estimating field to assign this

product– Sales Category – The sales category to assign this item for

billing purposes


Adding A New Item Template• Fields:

– Estimate – Used to optionally link this template to an CB estimate part

– Quote – Used to optionally link this template to a PLQ quote

– Setup Date/By – Who/when set this up– Unit Weight – The weight of each unit– Weight per M – A system calculated field to verify that the

unit weight is reasonable– Qty Options – Enables the option to vary quantity– Customer – Defines the customer (for filtering purposes)– Item template quantities


Additional Tabs

• Item Template Quantities– Used to customize production info when the quantity

ordered of a product varies. Links to estimate, quote, or manual configuration.

• Item Template Lines– Used to customize production info on a field by field

basis.– Available objects:

Job Part, Job Material, Job Shipment, Job Note, Job Component
