Each Consortium has one “Parent”• ‘children’ (member institutionen)• Each “child” also has an account and is a customer

• For journals, a license allows access of the articles within the specified volumes, either for all years or only for certain years / issues

• For reference works, the license allows access for the current calendar year, including all updates

• For books, the license allows access for the current calendar year, to all books published within that year

How does a license work?• Our System recognizes your IP Address, a unique

number which identifies your network (e.g. 192.168.55.235)

• Computers within an institution often belong to the same IP “Range” (e.g. 192.168.55.*)

• The license for the “Parent Account” recognizes the IP Addresses of all members and gives them access to all publications licensed by the consortium

• Individual users can also identify themselves by UserID and Password
