Line of Research I
Starts in the 60`s with a first contact with
the Musical history.
(from Lin-Len´s theory in 3000 B.C. till
now)

Lin-Len
when striking a elastic body, non-perceptible “molecular nucleus” arise in the air. These “nucleus” are called harmonics.
www.cestmusica.es
C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Line of Research I
The non-perceptible sound of these “nucleus” (now called harmonic phenomenon) come from a real sound given by the vibration of the elastic-body.

E.g. if out the 7 monosilabes, A-G, we choose the real sound A(La) of 110 Hz, then the 1st non-audible sound or harmonic is the A(La) of 220 Hz, then the second harmonic is the 5th grade from A, that is E(Mi) of 329 Hz, then the third is the 4th from E, that is A of 440 Hz, then comes a 3rd mayor (C+ of 554 Hz) and then a 3rd minor E of 559 Hz.

Pitagoras took this theory afterwards.Joseph Sauveur in 1701 gave to this theory a scientific interpretation
Contribution from others: Fourier, Strutt, etc

Line of Research II We present the speaker's line of research as follows :Sound creation and wavelength determination: e.g. A, the elastic body is streched until a frequency counter gives 440 Hz. The wavelength of this sound is v/f ( v, sound velocity ; f, frequency). Same applies for color by changing v for c.
www.cestmusica.es
Sound and color relationship: is given by the frecuency of the sounds A-G and the frecuency of the colors(orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown and red).

Sound and color relationship:

C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Color-Sound RelationshipThis system express via colours the seven
notes : Do (C), Re(D), Mi(E), Fa(F), Sol(G), La(A),
Si(B). • The colours representing the seven notes
are :
Do (C) = green, Re (D) = blue, Mi (E) = purple, Fa (F) = brown, Sol(G) = red, La (A) = orange, Si (B) = yellow.

Color-Sound Relationship (Continuation)
With this color-sound relationship we still can not make music we need something else.

SPACE-TIME Relationship
In this new language, the duration of the sound is represented by the different lengths. Their symbols are as follows:
Note a second could be just 1 second or any other unit of time (depending on how fast
or slow the piece is interpreted)

Space And Time In Silence
Silence is the abscense of sound. Its duration is expressed by the length of the line that represents it . The line is written in black and normally in the middle of the clef line

C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Height Of The Sounds: “Clef Line”The notes are written on a horizontal line (clef line). The high-pitched and medium-high-pitched notes are written on top of the clef line. Low-pitched and medium-low pitched notes are written bellow the clef line. In the middle of the clef line there is the “La”(A, of tunning).

C.E.S.T. (Colour Space 15Sound Time)
Additional LinesShort lines written with the same color across the note and used to distinguish between octaves. A given note (let´s say La(A)) 1 octave higher has the same name but with twice the frequency. This note will be written on top of the clef line with an additional line with respect to the one with lower register. A La(A) 1 octave lower has half the frequency and will be written with an additional line bellow the clef line

Additional Lines And Its Relationship With The Clef Square.
Clef-sq.:Square written at the beginning of the score (musical writting). It contains all the information needed to know, play the piece or change it.

Additional Lines And Its Relationship With The Clef Square (Example)
Note that the location of the clef line with respect to the clef square depends on the type of instrument (high, medium or low-pitched).

Major Diatonic Scale It is the succession of sounds that contains 5
intervals of 1 tune and two intervals of half a tune. The intervals of ½ tune are between the 3rd and 4th degrees and between the 7th and the 8th degrees.

Major Diatonic Scale (Example)
T = Tonic (root), S= Supertonic,M = Mediant, Sd = Subdominant, D= dominant, Sd= Superdominant, Sensible= Leading Tone Seventh,
T= Tonic (Octave)

Natural Minor Scale
For each major scale, there is a correspondent natural minor scale. Sometimes called its relative minor. It uses the same sequence of notes as the corresponding major scale, but starts from a different note. Namely, it begins on the sixth degree of the major scale and proceeds step by step to the first octave of the sixth degree. A sequence of successive natural notes starting from A is an example of natural minor scale, called A minor scale.

Alteraciones ISigns written in the front or the back of the note to
modify its sound. Plus sign (+, sharp): Located in the right of a note
and written with the same color of the note that is affecting, increments by half a tone the sound of the note.

C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Alteraciones IIMinus sign (-, flat): Located in the left of a note and
written with the same color of the note that is affecting, decrements by half a tone the sound of the note.

Alteraciones III
Zero (º): Sign that neutralices the effect of the +/-

Accent Mark I
Tilted line (´, bar). Located on top of the some figures, the ones that determine the accented beat. It divides the piece rythmically. It will be located in the first figure of the beat (accented beat). We have different types of divisions
www.cestmusica.es
C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Accent Mark IIEvery two units of time : this type of division has two parts,
that is why it is called binary. In these two parts you can put as many figures as you like with the condition that they add up a total of two units of time.
A2 = accent mark every two beats
www.cestmusica.es
C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Accent Mark IIIEvery three units of time : this type of division has
three parts, that is why it is called tertiary. In these three parts you can put as many figures as you like with the condition that they add up a total of three units of time. (Example)
www.cestmusica.es
C.E.S.T. (Colour Space Sound Time)
Accent Mark IVEvery four units of time : this type of division has
four parts, that is why it is called quaternary. In these four parts you can put as many figures as you like with the condition that they add up a total of four units of time
Example : A4
