Thoughts •  First DON’T DO IT…. Run don’t walk •  Second - don’t tell me your inspiration was you were

–  “traveling and you got this great idea….” •  You have to figure it ALL out.

–  Just figuring out one bit and not the others is a FAILURE. •  Make sure you have a good team and a comprehensive one.

–  A thin team is OK if you are doing a thin project. •  Does your business have a decent plan…

–  So many plans are ill conceived and have no basis in reality. •  Do you REALLY know your competition? The biggest competition is not doing it

Be careful with research

•  People don’t perform the way they say they will perform.

•  They tell LIES!!! •  Look at hard data – performance •  Be careful with Mobile…

– All that glitters is not gold…

Questions you need to ask •  Would a bank manager like it and agree to lend you the money.

•  Would your Mum and Dad understand it and lend you the money

•  How hard are you prepared to work? A startup is not 9-5 its not 40 hours a week –

•  Do you have other competing obligations? –  A new baby, a time consuming hobby, a marathon???

•  What will your friends say? Cool or Fool?

Look in the Mirror!

What do you see? A successful entrepreneur or a wannabe? Do you REALLY have the right stuff to do this?
