THE WORLD TRADE CENTREThe World Trade Center is a partially completed complex of buildings, under construction, in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States, replacing an earlier complex of seven buildings with the same name on the same site.

The original World Trade Center featured landmark twin towers, which opened on April 4, 1973, and were destroyed in the September 11 attacks of 2001, along with 7 World Trade Center.

THE WORLD TRADE CENTREAt the time of their completion, the "Twin Towers" — the original 1 World Trade Center, at 1,368 feet (417 m); and 2 World Trade Center — were the tallest buildings in the world.

The other buildings in the complex included the Marriott World Trade Center (3 WTC), 4 WTC, 5 WTC, 6 WTC, and 7 WTC.

All these buildings were built between 1965 and 1985, with a construction cost of 400 million ($2,300,000,000 in 2014 dollars).

The complex was located in New York City's Financial District and contained 13,400,000 square feet (1,240,000 m2) of office space.

The site of the World Trade Center was located on landfill with the bedrock located 65 feet (20 m) below.

To construct the World Trade Center, it was necessary to build a "bathtub" with a slurry wall around the West Street side of the site, to keep water from the Hudson River out.

It was provided steel reinforcement bars at the core to protect it from collapsing and provide it the best stem, which needed very high temperatures to get melted.

It was designed and constructed such that, the wall made to carry the weight.

On September 11, 2001, Islamist terrorists hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 and crashed it into the northern façade of the North Tower at 8:46:40 a.m., the aircraft striking between the 93rd and 99th floors.

Seventeen minutes later, at 9:03:11 a.m., a second team of terrorists crashed the similarly hijacked United Airlines Flight 175 into the southern facade of the South Tower, striking it between the 77th and 85th floors.

THE DAY OF IMPACT

The damage caused to the North Tower by Flight 11 destroyed any means of escape from above the impact zone, trapping 1,344 people.

At 9:59 a.m., the South Tower collapsed after burning for approximately 56 minutes. The fire caused steel structural elements, already weakened from the plane impact, to fail.

The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m., after burning for approximately 102 minutes.

At On September 11, 2001, 7 World Trade Center started to collapse with the crumble of the east penthouse, and it collapsed completely at 5:21 p.m.

Owing to uncontrolled fires causing structural failure. The 3 World Trade Center, a Marriott hotel, was destroyed during the collapse of the two towers.

The three remaining buildings in the WTC plaza were extensively damaged by debris and later were demolished. Flight 175 had a much more off-centered impact compared to Flight 11, and a single stairwell was left intact; however, only a few people managed to pass through it successfully before the tower collapsed.

Although the South Tower was struck lower than the North Tower, thus affecting more floors, a smaller number, fewer than 700, were killed instantly or trapped.

THE DAY OF IMPACT

The twin towers could not have collapsed as a result of burning jet fuel. Most of that fuel was consumed on impact.

In the south tower, most of the fuel was spilled outside the building. Heat caused by burning jet fuel does not reach temperatures needed to melt steel.

The Twin Towers did not fall because of plane impacts or fires. Most likely explosives were placed on structural supports in the towers (as was done in Oklahoma City), and these controlled implosions snuffed out the lives of three thousand people.

UNSOLVED MYSTRIES

Page 13: Wtc disaster

Planes that lose contact with control towers are usually intercepted by fighter jets inside of ten minutes, as the incident with the golfer's plane a few months earlier so clearly demonstrated.

Yet on 9/11, the jetliners that struck New York were allowed to proceed unmolested for more than a half-hour, and the plane that supposedly crashed in Washington was not intercepted for more than an hour and forty minutes after it was widely known that four planes had been hijacked.

It just few days left for expiration of the insurance of the WTC building before the accident took place.

UNSOLVED MYSTRIES

Moreover, the whole staff was provided a leave, it was declared a holiday and just 10% of the total staff was present that day.

Not just this, even the spectators who had seen the collapse of the WTC live had committed that they had heard many small bombarding.

The Boeing which had crashed with the WTC , it seemed to be different from other commercial planes and when it was questioned to American Airlines they refused to answer it.
