IMPROVED LAUNCH OPERATIONS

Launch operations have been optimized for GTO launches from the Xichang launch site

Launch Capacity: 8~10 missions per year LV Launch Campaign Duration: 25 days Two launch campaigns can be operated in parallel for at

least 18 days. Interval between 2 launches at Xichang launch site

Shortest interval: 17 days No.2 Launch Pad: <25 days No.2 & No.3 Launch Pad: < 20 days

Launch can be performed any time of a year.

DFH FAMILY SPACECRAFT SUMMARY First DFH-1 satellite was launched in 1970.

First GEO Communications satellite DFH-2 was launched in1984.

First operational three-axis-stabilized GEO satellite DFH-3 was launched in 1997.

First DFH-4 satellite Sinosat-2 was launched in 2006.

Now, more than 30 CAST-developed GEO satellites have been launched:

9 satellites based on DFH-2/2A bus;

20 satellites based on DFH-3 bus, with 5 sats already achieved 8 years’ designed lifetime and still in operation;

8 satellites based on DFH-4 bus;

5 CAST-developed comsats were launched in 2011. More than 20 GEO satellites will be launched based on DFH-3 and DFH-4 bus in the next few years.

DFH COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITES DFH-4 bus is a large capacity and long lifetime communications satellite

platform, with a maximum payload power of 8 kw.

8 satellites based on DFH-4 bus have been launched, among which Venesat-1 already has over 3 years in orbit operation. More than 200 transponder years of in-orbit operation experience accumulated for DFH-4 series of spacecrafts.

9 satellites, including three commercial projects, are currently under construction, i.e. CHINASAT-11, TKSAT-1 and SINOSAT-4.

OBSERVATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

China space keeps improving products and services in response to market demand, providing reliable technical solution, schedule assurance, reasonable pricing and packaged services.

China space will continue focusing on improving product quality.

China’s space industry will keep the current momentum for rapid development in the next few years, which will bring more opportunities to underwriters.
