The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) was founded in 1969 to provide high quality
education and training in wines & spirits. Since then, WSET has grown into the foremost
international body in the field of wines & spirits education, with a suite of sought-after
qualifications.
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits qualification is popular with wine and spirit
employees and will give students excellent all-round product knowledge. The course is also
suitable for the interested consumer.
This Online Distance Learning (ODL) course is spread over 5 weeks, with a recommended 6
hours of study per week. Candidate takes classes in an online global classroom under the
leadership of WSET® Tutor. The course is structured, interactive learning with a freedom of
flexible schedule.
Programme Outline:
Week 1: Factors Influencing the Style, Quality and Price. Food & Wine Pairing. Sales &
Service. Responsible Drinking
Week 2: Grape Varieties
Week 3: Regional, Quality and Stylistic Labelling Terms
Week 4: Sparkling Wines. Sweet & Fortified Wines. Spirits & Liqueurs
Week 5: Revision and Preparation for Exam
To gain qualification, candidate needs to successfully pass a multiple-choice question paper
of 50 questions. Examination is NOT online. It is required to sit for an examination with us.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidate will receive a certificate suitable for
framing, and a collar pin from Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
