TRIP AROUND WROCLAW(SLIGHT PRESENTATION)
By Yekaterina Topko….
WHERE IS WROCLAW?
Oh,here it is!!!
In 1945 Wroclaw became a Polish city.
IN OUR WAY TO WROCLAW (WARSAW AIRPORT)
THE 1ST PICTURE IN WROCLAW
They did that tables in order to reflect some important events happened to the city:
1530 – The Coat of arms of the City of Wroclaw1633 - Epidemie dżumy1842- the first train1997…
Wroclaw market hall (Hala targowa)
As we’re going to the Ostrow Tumski, the oldest part. You’re looking at the Oder river.
The tablet with the year of the highest water level is located there
Is was much more water many years ago that it covered all the pavement, but now the level is like that.
There are about 130 bridges in Wroclaw, and here’s Tumski Bridge (Most Tumski). He was built in 1889.
Over there is Cathedral of St. John Baptist, during the World War II it was 70% destroyed after heavy bombing. But it was restored piece by piece.
SO, AND HERE’S THE VIDEO!
The lights in the ‘Ostrow Tumski’ are the gas ones, and there is the person who does the lighting. In black clothes with a long stick. That’s how the man turns on the lights in the oldest part of the city, and he gets paid for that (I hope). It’s pretty interesting to watch in real!
Not many tourists can see that, but the man who saw this “ritual of lighting” considered to be lucky one. And you can also feel free to take a picture with him.

ALSO MANY TOURISTS TRY TO TAKE PICTURES WITH WROCLAW ‘UNIQUE’ DWARTS
There are plenty of them all over the city, some people told me that it’s more than 300 of them, but others think more than 700. You should try and take picture with all of them!

UNIVERSITY’S DORMITORYThere are special dormitories for the international students. The dormitories have special names: ‘Kredka’ and ‘Olowek’. They have 21 and 17 floors. I live in Kredka. Everything equipped very well inside. There are a bed, curtains, a lamp, chairs, a cupboard. The room divided into sections: kitchen, bathroom and your room. Downstairs you can have laundry and dryer, also you can ask for the iron and vacuum cleaner for your room.
