Dear Paul, I’m writing to ask if it’s possible for me to take a couple of weeks off work. My sister is getting married in the UK next August, so I would like to take my family there for a trip. I’m not sure whether this fits into the department’s holiday planning, but I hope we can find a way to cover me in my absence. (64 words) I would need two weeks off from Friday 1st of August, 2015 returning to work on Monday 17th August. I need such a long time because of the long haul flights to Europe, which means we need time to get over the jet lag after both the departing and returning journeys. (51 words) While I’m away, Lou could teach my classes. She knows the class well and she is familiar with the materials used at that time of term having taught those units last year. I need such a long time because of the long haul flights to Europe, which means we need time to get over the jet lag after both the departing and returning journeys. The last time I went back it took me 3 days to recover and I got the flu, too. While I’m away, Lou could teach my classes. She knows the class well and she is familiar with the materials used at that time of term having taught those units last year.
