News headlines in English are generally brief to fit in limitedspace, descriptive but in the meantime interesting.

Australian scientists have turned ordinary cooking oil intographene, in a discovery they say lowers its cost to produce.

Graphene, a strong carbon material, is just one atom wide andconducts electricity better than copper.

It was discovered at the University of Manchester in 2004,winning its inventors a Nobel Prize in 2010.

Now researchers say they can make graphene with soybeanoil, potentially making it more commercially viable.

Graphene is hoped to have numerous applications including inelectronics, biomedical devices and water filtration.

"One of the limiting factors in utilising graphene is the highprice compared to other materials," said Dr Zhao Jun Han fromAustralia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial ResearchOrganisation (CSIRO).

"If we reduce the price, we can promote its application."

Kasetsart University and Wageningen University & Research co- organized“Wageningen University & Research–Kasetsart University” on October 13, 2016at Kamphol Adulavidhaya Conference Room, the Golden Jubilee Administrationand Information Center, Kasetsart University.

The opening session started with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siree Chaiseree, Acting VicePresident for Research, sharing background information about the event, followedby welcoming remarks by Dr Chongrak Wacharinrat, Acting President ofKasetsart University. The six-member delegation group from WageningenUniversity & Research was led by the Mr. Arie Veldhuizen, Dutch AgriculturalCounselor for Thailand, the Embassy of the Netherlands and Dr Mr. ArjoRothuis, Account Manager Asia of Wageningen University & Research.

The rest of the morning program included seven presentations by guestspeakers from both universities chaired by Asst. Prof. Buncha Chinasri,Assistant to the Acting President, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siree Chaiseree,Acting Vice President for Research conducted the afternoon session, whichfocused on discussing research collaboration and proposal development invarious fields, particularly precision agriculture, irrigation engineering and waterresources engineering.

ต่อมาในวันที่ 22 กันยายน 2559 คณะผูบ้ริหารมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ เยี่ยมชม The University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) เมืองปักกิ่ง โดยหารอืร่วมกับ Professor Dr. KanjunGuo ผู้อ านวยการกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์และคณาจารย์ ถึงความเป็นไปได้ในการจัดท าบันทึกความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างกัน

KU establishes collaboration on corrosion research with IMR, China

On September 19, 2016, Kasetsart University delegation led by Dr. Chongrank Wachrinrat –Acting President – visited, signed an MOU, and had a laboratory tour at the Institute of Metal Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) in Shenyang, P.R. China. Prof. Yang Rui – Director of IMR, Dr. Shuyan Li – International Cooperation Office Director, Prof. Ke Wei, and Professor Jun-Hua Dong warmly welcomed the delegation.

On September 22, 2016, the Kasetsart University delegation paid an official visit to the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) in Beijing, where the idea of entering into an MOU was also discussed with Professor Dr. Kanjun Guo – Director of the International Office and faculty staff on a possibility on creating an MOU for future academic collaboration.
