As the Wright Charolais breeding program began to grow, the first Annual Bull Sale was held in 2008 with 25 head of bulls. Derry Wright had the same ideology to develop the size of his cattle endeavor as he had used as a young man building his corn and soybean crop production. Do it right, work at it hard, make it work, make a profit and then get bigger.The size of the purebred Charolais herd has continued to grow selling 150 bulls in the annual bull sale for several years now. To diversify, grow the herd and to utilize the extensive herd bull battery twice a year, the fall calving herd began to develop. Along with the crop production effort, the labor and equipment used for the fall harvest, the time has come to reduce the herd size of the fall breeding program. This will be the first time Wright Charolais has offered a totally unrestricted group of a large part of our program by hosting a Mature Fall Calving Herd Dispersal. Every fall calving cow born in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 sells! Along with that part of the herd, we will also offer a big share of our fall calving bred heifers and open fall born yearling heifers.

We have all been through some uncertain times of late, but it is time optimism in American again takes over and drives the boat! The Charolais bull sales this spring were met with great buyer demand with averages the same or in most cases higher than the year before.
