DESCRIPTIONWray Barton Manor, with its long and facinating history, occupies an outstanding elevated position commanding lovely views over the valley of the River Wray. Built in 1846, with origins much later, this beautiful Grade II listed property exudes all the character and charm of a Victorian neo-Tudor house typified by the steep – gabled attic story on each elevation. Walls are buttressed diagonally at the corners and the windows are protected by drip moulds. On the ground floor of the symmetrical south frontage two bay windows that would originally have had castellated parapets,a granite porch facing west surrounds the arched front doorway. To its right is a towering chimney stack with weathering culminating in an octagonal chimney. A similar stack faces east, next to a short projecting bay followed by a longer granite wing. The property offers bright well proportioned accommodation richly decorated with ceiling plasterwork, ornamented fireplaces, panelled doors and so much more. The property is in lovely order and displays a rich tapestry yet with careful consideration, modern day conveniences combine subtly to ensure a most comfortable and up to date home.
