Suppressed Demand – Module 2.3
Suppressed Demand – Module 2.3
Action Points / Recommendations/Comments (from panel/audience) Need more explicit guidance on translating MSL to GHG emission equivalent.
Overall guidance on SD can improve consistency but the specific approaches have to be developed for each project type
Robust sampling and monitoring rules required
Way forward: honest, transparent process with input from stakeholders
Predictive tools and models need attention
Need to aim to retain operational simplicity
SD, sustainable development and geographical equity all need to be addressed
Do CDM projects take a long perspective on what is the best approach to meeting SD; are long term planning and perspectives taken into consideration?
Pre-project baselines ≠ if MSL is not met, i.e. basic human needs
NAMAs and New Market Mechanisms may be required to truly address SD
