WHAT IS BUrNSHIELD?Burnshield is a remarkable sterile dressing which is made for the

first-aid treatment of burns, cooling and soothing the burn area and

minimizing trauma. Every Burnshield dressing is saturated with a

sterile water-based gel which has the ability to absorb and dissipate

heat, provide relief, minimise shock and skin damage, halt the burn

process and protect against further contamination.

The Hydrogel is non-toxic and non-irritant. It contains no oils or fats

and is safe for use on children. Burnshield dressings can be used

on all 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns including facial burns and scalds.

USE:

Tear open and remove the dressing from the pouch. Apply direct-

ly onto the affected area. Squeeze the rest of the hydrogel out of

the pouch and onto the dressing. Secure the dressing with a light

bandage.

WILL THE BUrNSHIELD DrESSING STICk To THE WoUND?

The dressing is non-adhesive and can be painlessly removed

without causing discomfort. Any hydrogel residues can be washed

off with water.

Preparation (gloves must be worn)Immerse in warm water, remove, lightly squeeze out excess water and apply.

ApplicationAfter preparing the area with cotton wool, crepe paper and a tubular bandage, wrap the slightly stretched mcast “F” tape around the dressing.

ShapingMoulding the tape into place causes all layers of the dressing to bond and form a stable cast, which can withstand weight after 30 minutes of application.
