Every follower of Christ should look for opportunities to give consistently to advance God’s kingdom. To do so, I encourage you to: 1.Allow your heart to meditate on God’s word and embrace a Praying Spirit. 2.Witness to others about Christ and bring them to church. 3.Permit your heart to grow as a servant proactively looking for ways to serve others. In Ecclesiastes 11:4, Solomon makes an observation about human behavior, “He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.” In other words do not allow your circumstances to dictate your actions. Instead allow God’s word to guide you. If you are facing uncertainties in the future and are tempted to be fearful and anxious, sow seeds of faith by reciting the promises of God and drawing from the faith experiences of your past. If you are struggling with depression then sow seeds of joy because the scripture declares the joy of the Lord is your strength. If you are under financial pressure and need to see increase in your business or personal finances, you must obey Jesus’ words found in Luke 6:38: “Give and it will be given unto you.” There are many ways to support Elevation financially this summer. First it is important that we all tithe consistently. The tithe is a percentage of our income that represents the first and best part of what God has given us. “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord.” (Exodus 23:19.) Second, in 2015, we are asking at least 1,500 people to contribute $1,500 between March 1 and December 31, 2015 through our Capital Campaign. Third, to celebrate our church’s 100-year anniversary, we are asking 1,000 people to give $100 in August. With your help EBC can continue to educate and give to our community while growing our ministries. As we approach our 100-year anniversary it is important to understand the eternal benefits of partnering with Elevation. Christ is Lord at Elevation and we are excited about souls that have been saved and the many that are on their way. The 100-year milestone that God has sustained for this branch of Zion since 1915 is AWESOME. As we continue the legacy for debt retirement, let us remember “Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings.” Amazed by His Grace, Dr. T.L. Carmichael, Sr. Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusi- asm, and your love from us— I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. (2 Corinthians 8:1-9.) GIVE You are invited to join the Elevation family on our jour- ney to continue the vision of evangelism while reducing debt. The Progress Campaign is a 5-year capital campaign where we’re asking everyone who believes in this vision, “Can you help?” To make a contribution above your normal tithes and offerings, fill out a Progress Pledge card.
