World’s First International Computer Art Exhibit.
Rene Pardo and Remy Landau while at the National Film Board in 1967organized the world’s first international computer art exhibit held atthe Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Works included the Digital Mona Lisa created by Peterson at ControlData by scanning the original at the Louvre in France and transmittingdigits via satellite for printing in shades of gray created bysuperimposing alphanumerics and characters.
The exhibit included works from Lloyd Sumner, Frieder Nake ofGermany, Boeing Aircraft’s “ergonomic man”, Ken Knowlton’s wallmurals digitizing birds in flight and many more. (Pardo bought many ofthe prints from the collection).
