Think about it! Let our conduct betray our faith and prompt Kermit to say: “They must be Christians! Endeavorers, of course!” President’s Word

WCEU Prayer Week 2017Prayer meetings are a great way to start the year. Therefore the WCEU encourages all endeavorers to arrange prayer meetings in the week of January 29 through February 4. This week includes February 2, the day the first CE society was founded. Focus in the prayer week on Christian Endeavor all over the world. The WCEU website and the WCEU's newsletter and the prayer mail provide plenty of information for thanksgiving, praise, petition and intercession. The WCEU will be glad about short and meaningful reports about what you experienced in this prayer week. Your experience, your program may be an encouragement for other endeavorers. That is why the WCEU would like to report about the prayer week. For some endeavorers, resp. CE unions it is already a tradition to collect an offering earmarked for the WCEU during the prayer week. Show your solidarity with the CE movement by donating to the WCEU through GoFundMe: www.gofundme.com/christianendeavor

CE Goes Zoom!

During the September Board meeting held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania it was agreed the Executive Committee (E.C.) would go Zoom! Zoom is software that allows people to talk via video chat, share on screen documents, and tape discussions for people to review or watch later. The CE tested Zoom in December and it worked well. Periodic Zoom meetings will be held to accomplish ministry tasks through the year. This technology is also allowing one costly meeting toeliminated helping CE – World to carry out its mission with less cost. Praise the Lord as we “Zoom” into 2017!

WCEU Volunteer Exchange Program

An incredible opportunity exists for volunteers to provide short-term service to CE ministries around the globe. The application process for CE organizations and for potential volunteers has been reviewed and is being reorganized. Imagine people from across the world experiencing a different culture while providing valuable service to further God’s Kingdom work. One year long opportunity already exists in England. Please read the article on page 4, consider whether volunteer opportunities exist in your culture, and consider what young people age 18-25 would benefit from a volunteer opportunity.

What he would like me to do…

By Andreas A. Rudolph

Beside listening to Jesus at the time of prayer and learning from the scriptures, the passage from the CE-Pledge: “and to support the work and worship of my own church in every way possible”, leads to a third way the Lord tells us what he expects us to do. Every endeavorer lives in fellowship with the church she/he and her/his CE society belongs to. Sometimes the advice, a remark or a request of a sister or brother in the Lord tell what to do (or not to do). Also the decisions of committees or the board to take up a project, establish a service or any other activity may indicate, what the Lord wants us to do. In case you have to make a major personal decision, it is wise to discuss the matter with an experienced Christian. God has surely other ways too, to speak to his children, but listening prayer, attentive bible reading and taking advice from brothers and sisters are the principle sources to learn “whatever He would like to have me do”.

Institute of Fine Arts). They have been working with the Mexican Christian Endeavor for the last years, leading trips, camps and workshops for the young people. Isai studied mathemathics at the National Autonomous University of México, and is currently teaching math in different grades. He has been working with the National Christian Endeavor since 2009. He is also a trip enthusiast and loves to work with young people. Last but not least, Mauro is also involved. He is a Bachelor of Communications, professional photographer, biker and wanderer, who started serving God through Christian Endeavor in 2014, taking photos and covering events all over the country. He was taken by the hand by the Almighty and started this project almost one year ago. Photo-Trip involves going across the country, visiting places, meeting Christian people, taking pictures and having different small conferences and reflective topics according to young people ’s needs. After having from 2016 to present 4 different photo-trips, in México city, México, Chilpancingo city, Guerrero, Tulum, Mayan Riviera in Quintana Roo, and this year Nevado de Toluca Mexico State the organizers draw the conclusion: it doesn’t matter if you

don’t have a professional or compact camera, you can join using your phone. It is actually the best way to reach people who don’t know anything about Christ, because it makes them them feel warm and like home. A lot of times people express their feelings by taking pictures. You can notice the difference between sad and happy ones from the first photos until the last shots! Praise to The Lord

A group from Frankfurt joined the German CE Union

At the autumn general meeting of the GYFCE among six others a peculiar CE society was accepted into the German CE as well. A church in Frankfurt – one of the multi-ethnic centers in Germany – whose members are Bulgaro-Turks, approached WCEU trustee Daniel Hoffmann in his capacity as Exec. Director of one of the CE State Unions, whether their youth group could become a member of the German CE Union. Daniel visited the group and explained the basic ideas of CE, pledge, principles etc. They happily agreed with all the regulations and all wanted to take the CE-pledge then and there and become a CE member. This is amazing, because the young Germans are quite reluctant to bind themselves with the pledge. It needs a lot of explanation and encouragement until they sign the pledge and take up the responsibilities connected with it.

Holiday Centres Reopening in the UK

Compiled from mails by Jonathan Roberts, Volunteer support, Team Christian Endeavour Holiday Centres

We are in a very exciting stage at Christian Endeavour Holiday Centres. Our Board of Trustees decided that Beechwood Court, which has been part of the organisation for over 95 years, will re-open in April 2017. The Pleasaunce, another Centre will re-open later in the year. Beechwood Court is located in Conwy, North Wales and the Pleasaunce is in North Norfolk.

For many years the Centres were run with the help from Christianvolunteers from around the world and we want to bring this idea back. We would like to connect with the WCEU in finding christians who are interested in experiencing new cultures, learning English and developing their faith. The Holiday Centres are used by churches, families, individuals etc. as a place to holiday or meet in a Christian environment. These holidays would have organised activities by leaders who would organise fun and games, excursions and praise and worship. The volunteers we have would be offered accommodation on site, their food and an allowance so they can purchase their essential items. They would be part of the community on site volunteering in the kitchen, grounds and maintenance, house keeping or even as part of the office team. Our documents for ‘expression of interest’ in volunteering should be going on our website soon.

On my way to… Maternity leave

It’s been 6 years since I first appeared in this heading being introduced as the Assistant to President and General Secretary. At my work I always experienced the feeling of home, the belonging to a global family, the endless acceptance and love of Christ. Now that I am going to have my daughter, Olivia soon, I’m leaving for a while and thinking that this is an enormous legacy. Thank you WCEU, see you soon, I hope!

Introducing Nathan Robb

CE Impact is a new heading that aims to present youth of CE that can inspire us through their story in what we do for this movement.

Hello, My name is Nathan Robb I am 20 years old and from the State of Ohio in the United States of America. Since my birth I have been a part of Christian Endeavor. I grew up around the ministry being active in my Church and state CE. 2014 was a big year when I joined the team who went to the CE World Conference in South Korea. It was a real eye opener for me really starting to understand the core mission of Christian Endeavor. In High School God introduced me to Photography and Videography, I realized that he had given me a gift and I started to use it anywhere I possibly could. Through the Korea trip I ended up working with the CE Mission Weeks in the summer of 2016. That was so much fun and I hope you will check out the Summer Highlight Video on my Website. https://youtu.be/nMsewMcBqXM In the last year I have had the opportunity to travel to over 11 CE Events other than our own State and Church Events. I have been privileged to talk to several churches and individuals about how they can start CE in there church. God has blessed me more than I could have imagined and it is so exciting to see how Christian Endeavor is growing not only here in our country but around the world.
